Liked: JJ's is clean and very welcoming. The staff are extremely helpful. The BBQ and quiz night was brilliant and excelllent value for money. Its a good place to meet up with other people and share experiences. The free breakfast and eveing meals were very helpful if on a budget and the free transport bus also helps.

Disliked: Couldn't find anything to dislike

Liked: Everything! Thursday night BBQ and challenge, pool, staff are really nice and helpful. It was a clean hostel and though the location was quite out they had a free shuttle bus going in/out of the city center throughout the day :)

Liked: I liked the location to Cairns city along with the extremely helpful and friendly staff.

Disliked: The pillows were to flat and no coat hangers in the room to hang clothes up. Also most of the tours I went on were before Breakfast was supplied, one of the incentives for booking at this Hostel was the offer of Breakfast and Dinner. I inquired about having breakfast for myself a little earlier and they would not give Breakfast supplies before the scheduled time.

Liked: Very "basic" hostel, but all over all we had a nice stay. The hostel is located outside the town's inner city, but they offer a free shuttle bus which takes you to the city centre (pick up from the town also of course).

Disliked: The rooms have some boot camp atmosphere ;-)

Liked: it was clean

Disliked: Free pick up is a bit of a con if you book through hostel to go back as they charge double the shuttle fee but i did not know this until i had booked the shuttle and left. All you can eat bbq!!!!!!! Misery portions and not worth the 8 dollars.

Liked: Best Hostel I have ever stayed in!!! I recommend it to anything travelling to Cairns. Breakfast and dinner are included, which saved us tons of cash.

Disliked: The location is not the greatest, but the hostel offers free shuttle almost anywhere you need to go! It is also easy to walk to a lot of the action everywhere.

Liked: I loved everything about the hostel ,the hosts were extremely friendly and helpful ,and i was really sad to leave .Also the meal voucher and the free shuttle bus was a great plus ,i would love to stay here again ,brill

Liked: Super helpful staff! Very nice and clean place too. It is a bit far from the city centre but makes for a nice walk on the esplanade and there's a bus that can take you to town and back for free regularly. We stayed only one night but I would not mind staying there for longer and would certainly recommend.

Disliked: We were there probably too short to find anything to dislike.

Liked: JJs is a fantastic place to stay! We initially booked two nights as it looked really good on the website but thought it'd be too far out of town. When we got there and found our way around we decided to stay an extra week we loved it so much. We loved the fact that breakfast AND tea were included so it saved us loads of money. The hostel is nice and quite but definatly not boring there's a tv room and a pool and a nice seating area where everyone chills which us a great place to meet people. The staff at jjs were really helpful and got us a really good deal on a diving trip and are very knowledgable about all the trips and activities. JJs has a really nice family feel to it where you feel really relaxed and at home. I would say it's the best hostel I've stayed in so far as it's not really big and busy but not small and cramped it's exactly right. I really miss it and would definatly go back!

Disliked: There is nothing I disliked about this property the only thing I would say is that if it had Internet access it would be perfect but the fact that it hasn't isn't a problem as there's somewhere nearby and loads in town that you can get the free bus to if you don't fancy walking (it isn't more than 20 mins away and nice to walk down the espanade).

Liked: Small quiet hostel, friendly people. Brilliant staff, knew all about the trips/buses to book etc which you could book at the hostel. Never pushed to book anything though. Private hostel bus that ran you into town for the bars/clubs/airport pick up/ferry terminal for trips. Quiet for a good nights sleep but still met loads of people hanging about at the hostel. Nice homely feel.

Disliked: Nothing. It was a bit of a walk from town centre but it's a nice walk or if you're feeling lazy, the courtesy bus!!
