Liked: I liked that the staff was very helpful and friendly. The airport pickup was free and awesome. I liked the free use of the internet and the kitchen. The bus into town was perfect and free. I loved being able to rent the bikes for free. We got to save so much money and the staff was SO helpful with what activities to do. The ones the recommended, we did. Like Cape Tribulation and Passions and we LOVED them both.

Liked: The hotel was a 20min walk from the hotel although the staff would run regular shuttle bus's into town every hour up to 7pm. Staff were friendly and helpful - there's free internet, and your evening meal is free at a pub in town. Cheese and wine evening (free) on a Tuesday, and there's a small pool - just big enough to splash around in but not to swim. Great atmosphere, and although the rooms were basic, they were good value and clean. Had aircon and fridge in mine, with tv in the common room. Good kitchen and laundry facilities too. Would recommend this as a great place to stay, although if you want to be closer to the noise and action then try something closer to town.

Liked: The owner was on site each day and ran the business more like a home than a hostel. The office was manned from early morning to evening by very friendly staff eager to advise. There were two wine and cheese nights each week, an ideal way to meet everyone staying there and get introduced. Overall, a very safe, quiet and friendly place to stay.

Liked: Claire - she rocks!! This place was great....originally me and my boyfriend were only booked in for a couple of nights but ended up staying two weeks. The rooms are lovely and very clean and the staff will do anything to help you out.

Liked: You can get a free pick up from the airport, which is great after a long flight! The staff were all really friendly and helpful in booking days trips etc. The cheese and wine nights were a great way to meet the other people staying at the hostel as they helped to break the ice! Some of the staff also socialised with the guests, which added to the friendly atmosphere. Although it took about 15-20mins to walk into the centre of Cairns, you don't really notice it as it's a lovely walk along the esplanade. Other positive points - very clean/free internet/free use of bikes. I would definitely tell everyone to stay there and I'd definitely go back!
