Liked: we have stayed in the carvella for two years running now and i can honstley say it is one of the best hostels i have stayed in, in australia. Staff are very helpful and it is very clean, whereass some of the hostels up the east coast are minging!!!!

Disliked: nothing....

Liked: Private room was clean and spacious. Fridge was a great addition so that we could make use of the communal kitchen. Staff were very friendly and helped us book some tours.

Liked: Good location, free dinner at local cool bar (chilli or pasta etc) clean kitchen, nice room (we had ensuit double). VERY helpful lady on reception (Hannah) - good tour advice etc.

Disliked: We paid for a room with fridge but not sure what you meant to do with you cold food if you dont as you were not allowed to keep food in the kitchen/there was no fridge.

Liked: The ensuite female dorm i stayed at is quite clean. and i like the freidge in the room. however sometimes we can hear people's voice from next room.

Liked: Great and clean place to stay in Cairns with lots of space to chill and relax. Close to the esplanade and the centre. Good for socializing. Staff was very friendly and helpful, we got some huge discounts on our trips...We would always come back!!!

Liked: Very good location. Not too far away from the City and the Partys.

Disliked: We had some kind of Bugs in Our room, the floor was really dirty and the Bathroom was smelly. In the morning you have to search for a spoon, to eat your breakfast. We didnt cook there, cause the kitchen didnt look that nice. Our room was next to the reception so we could hear everything the spoke to others and it was really loud in the morning.

Liked: They have huge swimming pool, clean room. friendly staffs and 2 self catering facilities. I arrived around 10am and they let me checked in and room is super clean with refrigator and fan. I saw cleaners cleaned all day long and clean thoroughtly. Free pickup from the airport was very good. you can free call from the airport, It's not allowed making noisy after 11pm, so other fellows can sleep well :) Thanks all staffs. I want to comeback again

Liked: Very clean! And awesome open layout. Close enough to city center for a good night out but far enough away to where its quiet for those coveted mid day naps. Staff was beyond helpful and accomidating and even booked us a tour last minute!

Liked: It was very clean and there were two kitchens so at 'peak times' you could all make your food. Staff made a real effort to know your name and greet you and help you when they could. The pool lounging area was a nice suntrap with little wind (though the pool is so cold in the winter!)

Disliked: The 'free meal' is only free after 8pm as before then you have to buy a drink, and your choice is 3 types of pasta and a chili con carne. But not bad portions. No lockers in the rooms but everything felt quite safe and you can put things behind reception.

Liked: nice atmosphere, helpful staff, free pickup from the airport, swimmingpool was great,would definitely go there again!

Disliked: doubleroom had an ugly smell that did not disappear, maybe because of the humidity (bathroom without window), there was no place where to put your things in the bathroom

Liked: The staff were excellent! They looked after me quite well and saved me a lot of money on a trip on the Skyrail. Excellent Reef experience was suggesed by them. The restrooms and kitchens are cleaned daily so they're always in good shape. Location is fantastic! Just off the busy tourist part of the esplanade so there is not a lot of foot traffic to make noise, yet a 5-10 minute walk to the main parts and 15 to the mall. Taking a reef trip? 15 minute walk to the fleet harbour. Location in a walking town is perfect. Met tons of nice people here and the price was very good. excellent roommates as well!

Disliked: Bring soap to wash your hands in the bathroom! Internet can be pricey so definitely just take a true holiday and stay off the internet!
