Liked: We were upgraded to a twin room at check in! Nice chilled atmosphere and helpful receptionists.

Disliked: Not as close to the nightlife as I would have liked.

Liked: urm... the staff were nice and couldnt do more for you. We were instantly upgraded to a private on suite.

Disliked: The kitchen fasilities were rubbish. the internet was rediculously priced. There were all sorts of charges here and there. Its not a terrible place to stay though. Just wastn my cuppa tea

Liked: Nice, clean, friendly staff but a bit lack of privacy in shower facility. Also, if there are more hocks would be more handy for us. Overall speaking, we had a good stay.

Disliked: Lack of privacy in shower place and more hooks or a small platform would be better.

Liked: Clean rooms with good soft beds (especially compared to Asia!)...staff are very friendly and always willing to help with your plans at the front desk. Kitchens are nice and big which is good because it gets busy at dinner time. Lovely location along the esplanade and a 5 min walk from the lagoo, 10 minute walk from centre of town.

Disliked: Bathroom door in our room did not have a lock which was a bit weird and awkward at times. Otherwise no problems.

Liked: Free upgrade when hostel was obviously not busy. Very good. Flexible staff

Disliked: Not the cleanest place, but this was worse on our later stay.

Liked: Flexibility with rooming options - upgrade on our first night there when the hostel clearly wasn't full. A nice touch.

Disliked: Inconsistent staffing. Very good sometimes, and poor others. Not all had the same level of knowledge about the facility. The older gentleman who appeared to be the owner didn't seem to know the front house processes as well as his staff and indeed wasn't sure what rooms were where.

Liked: good for value, good location, but the free meal at night is not real free, I have to buy some extra orders,which seems not so honest. But in general, it is very good one to recommend. I might come back.

Liked: Clean. Stayed here twice both times in private room. First room was fine but kinda sketchy looking. Second room was fantastic.

Liked: Our flight arrived at 5am in cairns and the hostel staff left a key out for us to check into our room straigt away because the reception doesn't open until 7

Liked: The staff are very helpful, everywhere is clean, the rooms are secure, air conditioning is amazing, Right on the sea front, kitchens and pool are a nice size.

Disliked: Slight walk from the centre of Cairns, around 5 mins so it is a little tough in the summer heat.

Liked: Private double room was huge - we had a sitting room and fridge! Had a minor problem with the room that was attended to immediately. Tremendously satisfied with the location, price and service. Would recommend to anyone. Friendly, personable staff make it very easy to stay.

Liked: Friendly and helpful staff, good atmosphere, showers were clean. Tours on offer were reasonably priced and were all excellent fun.

Disliked: Wifi was a bit expensive. Some windows in my room were not secure

Liked: I spent my 1000th hostel overnight here! And this hostel is among the best. The best feature is the long tables outside the kitchens, where you can readily meet and chat to people. The TV is wisely located in one corner of the courtyard so it doesnt dominate over conversations -- I wish all hostels would do this. The staff are extremely helpful and obliging.

Disliked: The kitchen was well-equipped but a bit chaotic, largely the fault of guests who think that, if they have washed their dishes, it's quite alright to leave them standing in the drainer for ever. And others who leave things in the sinks! The people following have to pile their dishes on top, or spend time clearing the last person's items. The notices are fair and clear, but hostels need to do some gentle policing in addition.

Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff - awesome guys! Wide range of tours offered. Able to get money back for leaving the hostel for a diving "live aboard" and then get the same room when we returned.

Liked: Good location, good tour desk, clean facilities, large fridge in double room.

Disliked: The hostel did not pick up the phone for our free transfer so we had to get a can from the airport.

Liked: Extremely friendly staff, upgraded us to a twin room when we arrived. Bathrooms and kitchen was regularly cleaned which was a plus. Everyone seemed to respect the no noise after 11pm because we slept well most nights. Free air con and free meals down at the woolshed were really good. Literally ten minute walk from town.

Disliked: Was all good, had absolutely no problems.

Liked: Great location! Easy walk to all the action in Cairns.

Disliked: A few wall hooks and shelves to place clothing and toiletries would have been great. More natural light in our room would have been appreciated, too.
