Liked: The staff are brilliant, really helpful. We booked for 2 nights and stayed for 5 including 1 free night because we booked a tour. There's lots of room in the kitchens and the pool is nice. Its also out of town (quick walk) which is great as its quiet at night.

Liked: Caravella is a place that really makes you feel welcome. They are awfully helpful and friendly. Even though it's a busy place (which is not necessarily a good thing for me personally...) it doesn't become frantic and filthy as is the case with quite a number of hostels in Australia. Paul is a great guy, and I'm saying that not only because he upgraded us to a twin room for the price of a dorm ;) And, last but not least, the free dinner... a free meal is always a good thing!

Liked: The place is very clean! Especially kitchen & shower area, everything is very organised! Surprisingly that I only stay for 2 nights and the staff can easily called my name out everytime see me! The free dinner is definitely a bit PLUS!! I would choose it again next time!!!

Liked: this place is awesome. free evening meals and really good atmosphere and friendly staff. we paid and booked to stay in a 14 bed dorm, and they upgraded us to a twin room, free of charge!!!

Liked: Staff are really helpfull - they make every effort to know you by name and ensure that you have a great stay (they will offer personal recomendations on all tours/ activities etc). Everything can be booked via reception (tours/ taxi's/ airport shuttle etc), so really easy. The location is ideal - right on the esplanade, 5 minutes walk from everything (pubs/ restraunts/ supermarkets/ docks - fishing tours/ barrier reef tours etc). Rooms are really clean, including the bedding! Air con in the room too. Showers and toilets are immaculate. Perfectly safe and secure - secure boxes available free of charge from reception when you book any tour through them. Can't ask for better value for money - you get exactly what you pay for and a whole lot more! The free evening meal offered by the hostel at the local pub is great. The pub itself is very 'backpacker prices' when it comes to drinks too, so it works really well. I can't fault this hostel in anyway. The fact that I intend to stay again for a few weeks says it all I think!

Liked: Air conditioners were rather old and didn't work properly.Great difficulties to open the windows in room.Bed, shower and fridge were excellent! Also thanks for free dinners - it's really great for such a low price.

Liked: What to say about Caravella...It is the #4 hostel in Australia!! Awsome place, cool people, in the esplanade, walk distance to the centre, they book everything for you...dives, skydives, trips to kuranda...everything! Very clean!!

Liked: Where is was located was nice. However there is a curfew. Me and my friend are not really party people but that does not mean we want to go to bed at 11 o'clock. Most people ruined it for everyone else with the noise.The room was average nothing special. I think my new top was mistaken for linen laundry though :(The staff are really great though and Gloria is a character. Although quite strict.

Liked: soo many discounts an upgrades! internet was frikkin expensive but alternatives close by. glorias an ace at getting you to fun places on cool tours. beautiful location. staff supernice, family atmosphere. no soap in the bathroom, which was a bother, but overall A+ without a doubt.
