Liked: Location. Close to the city, 10 minutes walk. Even though it is 8 bed room, large enough to set our luggages. No problem about safety.

Disliked: Kitchen equipments. Not enough, and sometimes what is there like cups and bowls disappeared. Whether the rooms and bathrooms are clean depends on what kind of people are in.

Liked: The people who work there are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are big and clean and have there own toilet and shower. It was a close walk to the city center and we got some free drinks at bars because they have free drink vouchers, just ask at reception.

Disliked: Nothing

Liked: It was cheap and close to the town centre

Disliked: Dirtiest hostel I've ever stayed in. No one cleaned up after themselves, they left food out that attracted flies. They left the water running in the kitchen and bathroom. There are signs up to say they want to be the best green hostel but the only effort made was a recycling bin in the smoking area that many people didn't know about. Guests had no respect for other people and would pack their bags for the early 5am trips at 4am that morning waking everyone up, rather than doing it the night before. Never been in a place like it!!

Liked: Free shuttle bus from the airport, free breakfast and nice rooms. Location is good too. Reception closes at 8 pm already, which is unconvenient. However, staff kindly organised my late check-in after a trip, thanks for that! Many tour adds, so you can book tours from here, can be more expensive to book from somewhere else. Also many tour companies near Haven. Each bed has it's own night light which is good.

Liked: Room was decent, i liked that there were facilities like washing machine, pool, kitchen, vending machines etc. Bed was quite comfortable!!

Disliked: I know the staff can't help it if people are bad at cleaning up after themselves, but the kitchen was AWFUL. It had great potential, was really nice and big, but everything stunk, 1 microwave had 5 generations of food growth all over it. A general clean-up by the cleaners every now and then would've made a big difference i think. No fan in bathroom so everything got steamy/smelly. Girl who greeted us at reception was less than friendly. We had a sliding door in our room that opened to an outside area, the door was NOT secure so i wouldn't have wanted to leave valuables in there. Location was maybe 10 min walk from 'town'.

Liked: The dorms are fine. The location is pretty good. You can walk into Alice.

Disliked: They have a big kitchen, which is quite nice. But if you want to cook in the kitchen you better bring your own pots and pans because they barely provide some. The kitchen is so dirty that you dont want to be using it. There were so many ants in the microwave... They have a pool at the haven too. But nobody cleans it- so you dont want to swim in there...

Liked: I had a great stay, it was exactly what I wanted. Staff were friendly and the place was clean. It was only a short walk to the centre and they also hired bikes for us to use as well. The breakfast in the morning is a nice touch.

Liked: Our travel plans had to change when Tiger canceled all their flights, and the Haven not only changed all our accommodation around with no charge, they also offered to change our tour dates with the tour company - which they did and took all the stress off us! So not only did we have a great experience while we were there we had a great experience with them before we even arrived.

Disliked: Nil

Liked: Staff is very friendly and helpful. Clean facilities. Good overall atmosphere.

Disliked: Only one bathroom per 8-bed dorm (can be a problem during rush hour).

Liked: quite close to the town

Disliked: I was very unimpressed with this hostel. It was very unhomely and there was nowhere to sit and relax and talk to people. rooms were clean but the kitchen had ants all over the untensils and in the microwaves. the staff were not very willing to be helpful. I think it is outrageous that you have to pay to use blankets - it was absolutely freezing at night so i had to wear loads of clothes to sleep in. I was also highly unimpressed that when i wanted to extend my stay i had to pay a higher price for the extra nights in a worse room!!!

Liked: very clean and very friendly staff!! Own bathroom in the dorms.

Disliked: The hostel is a base for people who just stay the for one or two nights. Almost everybody goes on a tour to the Uluru wich starts really early. When I returned from the tour (around 5:30 pm) and finally wanted to take a shower - there was barely water. Because there are so many people showering at that time. There is just one toilet with a shower on each floor (2 floors), except the one in your dorm. If you leave and want to shower the same time as your roommates want it's hard, cause there is only this one shower in the room and we were 7 girls. And when I finally could sleep longer than 5:30 am the other girls in my room got up to go on their tour and made noise. It would be better to put people in the same dorm, wich are either going on the tour or returning from the tour at the same time. It was about 15 minutes to walk into the city. Every tour ends with a night out in a bar and it's not safe to walk alone in Alice Spring (especially when you are a girl). A Taxi costs about 7.50 AUD.
