Liked: Great communal area and the staff were really helpfull.

Disliked: Not enough safe storage for stuff in room or when I checked out. Bags are left at owners risk in an unlocked room.

Liked: Nothing, it was a unhealthy hostel

Disliked: As stated above the disgrace, the kitchen was the biggest OH&S issue, food on ground, the way kitchen tools where placed and pots and cooking pans just choved in the sink with greasy food stuck to it piled out of the sink, the digrace the bathrooms where in as well, as I said a OH&s issue.

Liked: The beds BUT ONLY in the dorm!!!!

Disliked: Since 7 month we are travelling around the world. 90% we stay in hostels! I realy have to say, this was the worst hostel we have been. (Just to mention: we have stayed in North- Central- and South America!) And the value for money is very bad! Too late to change something, I talked to the guy at the reception and asked him, what they charge for doubles. He answered : 100 AU$. I was shocked! 100 bugs for such a .... messy something: There were still painting stuff under the bed, the curtains came down, the Air-Conditioner did not work, the balcony was "closed" because all around the fence were huge and long plastic ... it was a site! , the floor was dusty and dirty : dirty handkerchiefs on the floor ... So I told the guy from the reception also, that the stoves in the kitchen don´t work and it is always very dirty. He mentioned it is cleaned. I noticed that right after my comment, a volunteer cleaned the kitchen. It took her a long time. But that doesn´t mean it is clean afterwards! It was not! " The problem is the mangement! If they just give the opportunity to travelers to do the work and they don´t look after it, or they don´t have anybody who is in charge permenantly ... thats the result! I called the manager but I could not reach him ... I got said: He is golfing! I left him a message! He never called back or send me an e-mail. It speeks for itself....

Liked: I had 14 nights here and had a good night's sleep every night except one. That was inconsiderate people playing music on the radio outside our dorm. I got up at 0400 and had a go at them. They turned it down. I reported it to the manager the next day. He threw the radio in one bin and the lead in another. Back to normal again after that.

Disliked: Our dorm, number 7, was fine but the floor space in between the beds made it very cramped. Once we had a full compliment, bags belonging to people sleeping closest to the door blocked your path and the door.

Liked: I like the people staying there.

Disliked: Cleanliness, noisyness, atmosphere: everywhere signs where posted about not stealing and such. Makes you feel guilty before anything even happened. Doesn't feel welcoming.

Disliked: The linen provided looks very shabby, but to be fair was actually very warm and comfortable.

Liked: The location is amazing, minutes away from pubs, clubs the zoo, adelaide oval. Was the perfect place to stay for the rugby sevens tour.

Liked: Very good location, right in city center and just beside Rundle Mall. Bus and tram station right in front of the hostel. The toilet and shower is prefectly clean. I had a little comment about the kitchen, though the kitchen is clean up by staff at least twice a day, but the dishes are not clean by users, it's mostly messy and a little dirty.

Liked: I stayed in a room with 5 beds shoved into one room so there was no space on the floor to put your bags, lucky 5 people never were in the room or it would have been horrible. The room had no windows. Internet is very expensive 1 dollar a minute. There is nothing to do in adelaide so don't bother going. One receptionist is very rude.

Liked: The location is unbeatable. It's right in the center of the city, with the shopping district right around the corner and sights just around the corner. The matresses and blankets are good, however the pillows were kinda nasty. The hostel is ok for two or three days, but I wouldn't stay there longer.

Liked: I'm over 50, but fitted in well and it was fine for what I needed, I stayed at Blue Galah before Christmas and there was some theft, with food and drinks going, of which I was affected, but this time was fine.Not much room for your baggage in the rooms, as some of the girls don't put there's under a bed, like I did, plus some of the girls just leave everything open and laying about, which could free up some room for others in a room. The later does happen in other Hostels too.

Liked: Shower rooms and toiletts was in excelent condition, only one of the staff was unfriendly, nasty in the moornig all other was wery good. Close to downtown trams,busses,trains and so on

Liked: It was central to all the facilities in Adelaide, it had great balconies overlooking the street for having breakfast etc. Think this part could have been made a lot nicer. It was a decent place to stay and nice helpful people on the desk.
