Shakeys specialises in international travellers and is located within the backpacker precinct. with a shuttle bus service conveniently located near the hostel. It is only a minute’s walk to all major city tourist attractions. We are close to the central market, Rundle Mall (shopping mall) and you can walk to dozens of pubs, clubs, restaurants and cafes.

One of Adelaide’s oldest and most originally restored grand old historic mansions, built in 1861, this place is truly beautiful. Old but beautifully renovated to meet all the latest stringent Australian safety standards.

It boasts dorm, single and twin rooms. We have a huge new modern kitchen with microwave ovens, kettles, toasters, cooktops and fridges so you can cook a roast or heat your tea. We also have a dining area plus a big screen TV and lounge area. There are heaps of quiet areas to sit and relax maybe read a good novel.

Our reception staff can help you with all your travel and tourism info needs. With a selection of local and interstate travel products.

We are also a group booking specialist, we can cater for groups of up to 60+ persons. Sporting groups, tour groups, school groups can all be accomodated with a minimum of effort.

Dorms from 4 to 12 beds, private rooms, family rooms include dbl bed and 3 single beds, single rooms and twin share. Air conditioned, blankets and sheets, windows in every room, lockers available. After hours access and 24 hr checkin and 24hr checkout. We never close.

Right slap bang in the middle of the city. Close to absolutely everything worthwhile. Walk to the bus station for interastate buses like greyhound, Coles and Woolworths supermarkets , Adelaide Central Market and China Town, museum, art gallery, botanic gardens, Rundle Mall and heaps more. Seriously handy location for all travellers. And if you want to party all night long just head towards any of the hundreds of pubs and clubs located around the city.
