This is a lovely hostel, spotlessly clean and I had a comfortable double room for single occupancy. It´s in a quiet location so there is no noise at night. It´s also a quiet hostel, not a party hostel, so good sleep was easy. It had rather a subdued atmosphere when I was there. That maybe just the people transitting the place rather than the hostel itself, but after coming from a hostel in El Calafate where I met and chatted with loads of people, this was a little disappointing. Now the bad part. The location is a little out of town. One review said 15 minutes walk. That must have been with Usain Bolt as a pacemaker. On a brisk walk, it took me 25 minutes. I resorted to taxi´s after that! They´re only 1.50 pound each way, but an additional cost. So, you have to way up the fact that this is a good place to stay, against the location. I would say that there are probably places just as nice, better located, but I would still recommned this for the cleanliness, comfort and friendliness of the staff. It´s also really good value for money.

La Posta is good, the staff is really helpfull and friendly. Very good infra-struture, two kitchens, laundry, etc. Fantastic croissants (medialunas) at the breakfast. Wi-fi is really slow... Far away from the center (20-30 min walking) but with bus stop close to the hostel. Good value for money.

A great hostel-- very clean, good internet wifi connection, and interesting people. Not the "party" type hostel, but a great place to chill and meet people of all ages from all over the world.

We loved our stay at La Posta. We wish we had more time in Ushuaia so we could have stayed there longer. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. The hostel is very clean, warm and the free washing machine was an added bonus. Don´t let the location put you off, it is only a 20 minute walk to town. Thanks La Posta

This is a great find of a hostel and top on my list for Argentina. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. The place is super WARM with the heating on all day, heated floors and the rooms are big and so clean with comfy beds. Laundry free was a relieve to see and free to do. A little bit out from the centre but this is Ushuaia so it doesn´t matter too much.

Wonderful small hostel, with a chilled out atmosphere and brilliant staff. It´s about a 30min walk out of town, but the views of the surrounding mountains make it a plesant walk. Don´t let this put you off staying here.

What a nice place! It's true, it is a bit of a hike from "downtown", but the bus is passing by at least every 20 minutes. The place is so relaxed, Lucas and Cristian help whereever they can. Both thumps up for "La Posta"! One of the best Hostels on our trip and definitely here in Argentina!!!

The facilities are super and the 4-bed dorm is huge. It´s a pretty long walk into town (30-40 min.) but taxi´s are cheap and actually the walk TO town with the view on the mountains is superb on a sunny day!

awesome hostel, really friendly and helpful staff. It's not really a party hostel, but if you're in Ushuaia, you're probably not here for partying anyway. It's in a quiet location, on the border of the city. Apart from the 10 peso-taxi there's also a bus leaving near the bus station, should be either line A or C, but I don't know on which side of the street you need to wait, probably best to ask the driver.. (ticket costs 1.80 peso). It's def. more than 20 mins. from the bus station, more like 35-40.. If you want to get some tours organized, just ask at the reception, they are very helpful, and might even organize pick up infront of the hostel. One of the bests hikes, is to the Laguna esmerald (40 peso for the bus, 8 peso entrance), National Park is also nice (50 entrance, 50 bus). If you're only staying two or three days, don't do the glacier it's not worth it. taxi up there is 20 peso (one way), there's also a bus from the center for 20 peso (round trip). If you do the pinguins, be sure to take the tour that drops you off at the island, so you can walk with the pinguins (240 peso). Although the pinguin tour in Punta Arenas is cheaper (around half the price), and the pinguin colony is way bigger there..
