Liked: Location

Disliked: Vibe, rooms withouten ventilation, bad smelleken, dirty kitchen, frisgewassen that had never been cleaned, dirty patio. Reservacion through hostelbookers was unknown to the staff. They only find out at the second day of our stay

Liked: the location, but there are several other hostels close to the main square, no need to stay here to get a good location

Disliked: More or less everything... Owner must have changed, as the place does absolutely not match with the description on HostelBookers: - place is not clean - staff is nice but spends his day looking at TV or on Facebook, just ignoring the guests - bed is really unconfortable, we slept very bad. We booked for 2 nights but left after one. Even the sheets looked like if they were 20 years old with holes. We slept in our sleeping bag - the 1st room proposed to us had a window which could not be closed and a bathroom really dirty, due to a heavy rain (this is what we were told) The 2nd had no window at all and a system with padlock on the door that anybody could easily have open - no towel available when we arrived, while only 1 other guest in the place - breakfast very poor - fridge so dirty that we would not even have put a bottle in it - the place needs urgent works of maintenance

Liked: Location is perfect! Just a block from the main square. Very nice and safe area.

Disliked: The common places are a bit small, so if you want a party hostel, this is not your place.

Liked: Great location near the center of town, lots of things to do and they can book anything you need for you.

Disliked: The staff wasn't the best with English, but they understand most of what you say and definitely will do everything they can to help you.

Liked: Good location and cheap room prices.

Disliked: The room we had was freezing, it was warmer outside at night than in our room (double shared). Staff seemed more interested in watching tv and checking facebook. Laundry was very expensive as they source it out to a local company. Breakfast was not as is it advertised, no bacon & eggs. Overall it was an average hostel, ok if you just want a cheap bed. However as Salta has a lot of hostels I would imagine that there are much better than this. I would suggest not staying here.

Liked: Localização é perfeita, proximoo aos pontos mais interessantes do centro de Salta. Parque San Martin e teleférico, praça principal, mercado, restaurantes, museus, teatro, peatonais florida e alberdi etc e fácil acesso aos onibus que vão pra outros bairros. As pessoas da recepção são cordiais e prestativas.

Disliked: Um mal entendido; no site consta quarto duplo privativo, dando a entender que é um quarto com banheiro privativo e qdo cheguei o quarto com banheirio era mais caro. Acho que isso deveria ser melhor esclarecido no site. O casarão onde funciona o hostel é antiga e bonita mas está mal conservada..os moveis apresentam defeitos como armarios que não fecham as portas direito. Além disso, como nãó ha janelas em todos os quartos devido ao estilo de consrtrução a cor usada, laranja (quase vermelho) escurece ainda mais os ambientes sugiro que deem uma arrumada geral e pintem mais claras. No quarto onde fiquei com meu marido não havia onde pendurar nada uma roupa ou toalha, nada, nem no banheiro. O aquecimento do quarto que fiquei não aquecia a contento. O quarto de minhas filhas era bem mais aquecido. Coisas simples de resolver com pouca despesa, mas que fazem alguma diferença, são negligenciadas. Uma pena pois a localização é ótima.

Liked: Good location, close to the main square and the shopping area. Walkable from the bus station and only 10-15 mins from the restaurant street. Great big bowls for cornflakes in the morning!

Disliked: If you come looking for a basic hostel you won't be disappointed. It's just very standard. It needs a new breath of life and some love and attention. Nothing to complain about though.

Liked: Great location, right around the corner to the main plaza. Plenty of private rooms and toilets. Kitchen pretty good compared to others we have seen in South America. Staff spoke very good English. Quick and cheap laundry service. Cable TV in our room!! Towels included in price.

Disliked: Bathrooms could've been a bit cleaner. Book shop as advertised is very small - just a case of a few books. No bacon and eggs!!! Wifi didn't work in rooms. I overheard some fellow travellers saying that the hostel was now under new management (not English) - hence the lack of bacon and eggs!! Whereas this is not a huge problem, having an English manager with a book shop and bacon is a main selling point on this hostel's website.....maybe you need to change that!!!

Liked: Few travellers, very intimate and quiet. Very good location and the room was spacius and valueable.

Disliked: The person who cleans the hostel is the reception guy and he is not doing it very well because most of the time he is busy in the reception.

Liked: The location of the hostel was right - right in the city center. The staff was also very helpful and even called us a cab for a pickup at the hostel when we had an early bus out of Salta. On this morning, they also made sure breakfast was put out for us before we left at 6AM (breakfast isn't normally served until 7). I thought this was really nice of them!

Disliked: We stayed in a double private and the room had no windows are really poor ventilation so it got incredibly stuffy at night. The bathrooms were clean but the floors flooded easily, so you were always walking through massive puddles when in the bathroom. It was also advertised online that breakfast would be served with fruit, which they never had. They only served croissants, cereal, and coffee. Pretty basic but we survived!

Liked: Great location, same block as San Francisco Church (so if you get lost, just look for the church's high bell tower). Really helpful and friendly staff, especially the guy that worked night/early morning shift. I felt sorry that I didn't buy the tour from them coz it turned out to be more expensive paying with credit card. Nice hot shower.

Disliked: No AC. But weather is not that hot, so fan is okay.

Disliked: The hostel needs a "refreshment" including a good plumber, a good painter and a good cleaning company (but this quite natural if the receptionist had to do the cleaning, too). I guess the owners are very good in doing business while saving money...
