Liked: The rooms are quite decent and spacious

Disliked: The hostel needs a "refreshment" including a good plumber, a good painter and a good cleaning company (but this quite natural if the receptionist had to do the cleaning, too). I guess the owners are very good in doing business while saving money...

Liked: We stayed in a double-bed room which was big and verz comfortable. Staff was very friendly and the kitchen was equipped well.

Disliked: Bathrooms were a bit dirty but fine. There is no luggage room to leave the bags safely.

Liked: There are more bad things than good. On the plus side, the location is fantastic, it's literally a 2 minute walk from the main plaza and the Argentinian staff were very friendly and helpful. Not all of them could speak English, so have some basic Spanish phrases ready.

Disliked: This place is not good. The building is falling apart, the bathrooms are old and haven't been cleaned properly in some time (I think they wipe them down everyday, but they really need to tackle the limescale and use some bleach). There are no outside windows in rooms or bathrooms, only the the corridor. We met the English owner Gareth on arrival day, but never saw him again. The bacon and eggs mentioned in previous reviews weren't mentioned at all at our very brief intro to the hostel, and weren't obvious in the kitchen so not sure if that's still on offer. Breakfast was nice pastries, but bad coffee. The kitchen was grubby - we decided not to cook in there.

Liked: Fantastic location, very reasonable price. The bathrooms were nowhere near as bad as some reviews suggest. Our double was a good size and the dorms looked great.

Disliked: Not the best vibe, but this was probably due to the travellers there at the time. Location made up for everything.

Liked: Extremely helpful staff. The friendliest welcome to a hostel I've ever received. Given maps etc and told of things to do. Great location (near main plaza). Good breakfast and cooking facilities. Would definitely recommend. It's a goody!

Liked: All staff are really helpful. And the guy who owns it bent over backwards to help us out. Also, really good and cheap laundry service.

Disliked: staff was pretty much asleep in the back the whole time we were there - eventhough the front door was locked and he needed to let everybody in! Kitchen was not great - the oven was ancient.

Disliked: Staff never really around to ask for any info. Not a great atmosphere, lacking something.

Liked: We loved this place, we arrived at about 10am and were offered breakfast and able to check in straight away. We had a midnight departure and they let us stay in the room until then, which was incredible. Breakfast was basic but good coffee, good pastries and cereal. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The location is perfect, not that Salta is all that big.

Disliked: Nothing to fault

Liked: The breakfast was great, one of the best we'd had in a while, and nice little courtyard area to eat in. Free internet, and friendly staff.

Disliked: The *only* thing was the slight issue of a cockroach in our bed, but they're everywhere so as a precaution just ask for a room other than the one next to the bathroom.

Liked: The staff where friendly and helpfull. The location of the hostel is oke.

Disliked: It wasn~t that clean, especially the bathroom.

Liked: nice staff who spoke good english. Great breakfast that went on until lunch. Good location on the same block as the big red church. We had TV in our room!!

Disliked: a few small cockroaches in the kitchen

Liked: Great location, friendly staff.

Disliked: - their front dorm is extremely (!) noisy - in the five days I spent there, the trash was not taken out a single time - very little common space; dining room is actually a corridor in front of the rooms - bathrooms are not nice, even by hostel standards

Liked: Very friendly staff.

Disliked: We booked a private double room. We got Bed Bugs in it and changed to another. Unfortunately there were also bed bugs... We saw them at 3 in the morning walking on our pillows. Actually I would only book in a dorm right now or ask if they still have the issue. The dorms seem clean

Liked: Hostel del Centro is one of the best places we've stayed in Argentina. Location is great, but especially the staff... They make you feel at home and are very helpful. Make sure you do the wednesday night asado... it's fantastic! Thank you guys, we loved your place!
