I am an English traveller who has travelled throughout South America until I arrived in Salta and fell in love with the place. I have now opened a small hostel with my wife and a few friends with the aim of giving travellers what they want and really make the most of their time in this beautiful area. We are constantly improving our hostel and the services that we offer to keep Hostal Del Centro one step ahead of the rest.

We now have a little book shop with the best range of books in English in Salta, both new and used.

Our breakfast is one of the best in Salta. We even offer bacon and eggs ($10 pesos) so you can enjoy a little taste of home !

We are a huge supporter of the local charity called the "David Mather foundation" which helps very poor local kids to get into university and gain an otherwise impossible qualification, giving something back to the local comunity, please ask us for more details.

Our weekly BBQs are not to be missed with all you can eat of the best traditional Argentinian cuts of prime beef and and a huge array of salads!

Accommodation Information

We have double rooms, a twin room, a single and a dorm for 6 people. You even get your own towel (to give yours a rest). Nearly all the rooms have cable TV so if you just want a night in watching TV (which, even the hardest of travellers want every now and again) it’s not a problem. We also have free internet and a computer room with 2 computers and a Lap top station as well as wi-fi throughout the whole hostel.

As well as the computer room we also have a nice little lounge/Tv room and a beautiful little patio where you can chill out with your fellow travelers.

The free breakfast includes cereals, fruit, pastries and bread and jam we also offer tea, coffee and mate. We now offer bacon and egg.
You have to try our famous BBQ every wednesday , Eat as much as you want with great fresh salads.
Our in-house tourist info is of the very best and we can even offer discount tours all over the province through our friends in local travel agencies. The cheapest in Salta by far!

Location Information

We are the most centrally located hostel in the city, just 100 metres walk from the main plaza.

We are right next to the most beautiful church in the city called the Iglesia de San Francisco.

Being right in the center we are nearby to pretty much everything – you couldn’t be in a better place.
