Liked: The friendliness of the staff was good

Disliked: Room had no ventilation. The room had a strong damp smell. Room contained many mosquitos even when closed up and after an extermination spree. Facilities are a bit shabby and could use a refurb.

Liked: very Good value for money. Helpfulness of the staf!!!

Disliked: Nothing is special... the shower could be better, but in general, in Puerto Iguazu, the hostels had bad critics... and in this case, i think everything was perfect.

Liked: location was ok

Disliked: Quality price relation is not good. For the actual prices you cannot expect miracles but you might at least expect a clean room and facilities. For example: Dirty stains on the sheets, dead muscitos everywhere on the walls, hairs (somebody elses!!!) in the bed, non properly working shower, dirty watered swimming pool, majority of of the time there was no english speaking staff, therefore not able to book excursions at the hostel. The red line is that everything mentioned on the website is available, but in a lousy state or dirty.

Disliked: WiFi didn't work, noise travelled easily from common areas and other rooms but it didnt bother us.

Liked: Close to bus terminal. Average breakfast, bread, jam, tea & coffee.

Disliked: Grubby kitchen & swimming pool. Toliet bins are not emptied daily. A bit cramped.

Disliked: Very dirty rooms. Squashed flies everywhere on the walls. Cobwebs under furniture and very dusty.

Liked: I was unwell during my stay at El Guembe and I was incredibly well looked after by the staff at El Guembe. The hostel is set within lovely grounds and has a really nice seating area.

Liked: El Guembe is a small place in a walking distance from the bus terminal. The staff is very friendly and some of them speak also English. Rooms are decent (TV, some sort of aircon) and have a small bathroom (and hot water), but there is (a lot) humitidy in rooms. There is also a shared kitchen but is not very well equipped.

Liked: The rooms were good with good hot water and air conditioning however the location felt a little unsafe to walk to at night. This place didn't feel like a hostel, more like a motel. Kitchen was quite poor - it was outdoors and you have to ask them to turn on the stove for you, the fridge was in the computer room, which was a little strange. In total, ok if you are staying here for a couple of nights to see the falls and don't mind not meeting other people.

Liked: Quite a basic hostel. Staff were friendly and helpful. The 'new' pool 2 blocks away was perhaps new in 2005! We kept being told it was being cleaned so we couldnt use it. After 3 days of 'cleaning', you wouldnt want to swim in it!Air con in rooms was good. Private rooms had cable TV. The shower was strange. There was no separate shower cubicle or curtain, it was just in the middle of the bathroom next to the toilet. They didnt clean the rooms during our stay.Location wasnt great even though the town is so small. Plenty of better places to stay in Iguazu.

Liked: The staff were very helpful and friendly and I cant fault the place itself, save that it was too quiet due to the fires in Buenos Aires and a little too out of the way to be able to do anything about it. I was reccommended it as a good place to meet people though.
