Liked: Very nice Hostel with Nice garden. They have différent nice rooms to take a rest and meet other poeple. It's very clean . You feel really at home. On the réception the people are very friendly and very helpful. I must return to,Mendoza and make already m'y reservation at Alamo Hostel.

Liked: Specially cleanliness and location. Just across a supermarket and about 15 minutes on foot to Plaza independencia. The private double room was really good! Good breakfast too, with some kind of home-made bread.

Disliked: Poor on pratical information about local transportation, some affordable restaurant and possibles trips in the region.

Liked: Safe, clean, well-situated.

Disliked: Overheating. Although it was winter, it was overdone, so that we couldn't sleep. A group of French drunk young people made a huge amount of noise, despite this kind of thing going against the rules and character of the hostel.

Liked: The hostel was clean and well presented and the staff work hard to maintain it during the day. The kitchen equipment could do with an update though, especially those cutting boards ... eew! Also there is only one dishcloth for use throughout the day, and by the time several people get through it, it's pretty disgusting. I did ask for more and received them, however a few minutes later they were all put away again by the staff and the same crusty one remained.We stayed in room 5, the premium room It was very large and maintained the charm of the era of the house. Would have been nice to have a plug for the bathtub and some soap or bath gel though, to make full use of the bathroom. Also I was a bit put off by having to pay for the use of the lockers, although this site correctly states that it is a 'purchasable extra', the hostel's site states it is included in the rate.We were disappointed with the hostel's promotion of the bikes and wines tour, which honestly, was a complete shambles. Firstly we were told the pick-up was at 10am, however we were picked up at 11 and had to rush through the tour, not getting to all the wineries. Secondly there are posters in the hostel advertising a 'free' transfer, however when we got to the company we learned it was 25 pesos for the pick up. This is not necesarily Hostel Alamo's fault, although I think they should review their alliance with such an unprofessional operation. (We spoke to other people that day that had the same experience and were not too pleased with bikes and wines either).Overall Hostel Alamo was clean and pleasant and the staff were lovely, however just updating a few small things would really take it to a higher level from all the other hostels, something I think it is trying to achieve.

Liked: It's a nice hostel, very central located. The rooms are a bit tiny and the amount of water in the shower isn't much (especially the warm water). You can arrange a lot of excursions from the hostel, but the information isn't always correct. For example they didn't tell us that we had to wait for 3 hours!! with paragliding and also they didn't tell us the bus to Maipu leaves from a different street. And if you're longing for a nice swim in the swimmingpool don't go there... because it's very small....you could only dip your too...

Liked: My wife and I stayed for 4 nights in the comfort double with ensuite (Rm1). It was huge and very comfortable indeed. When we booked on hostel bookers, Alamo emailed us to say they had double booked the standard room and asked whether we would mind taking the double comfort for an extra 5 pesos a night. We agreed and are really glad we did. Other than poor water pressure in the shower and an endless stream of people for the 1 internet terminal, it was excellent. The people there were really sociable, cooking each night etc but it is not a party hostel. We would highly recommend this one.

Liked: The double room was big and it had a nice eating outdoor area with a BBQ to use. The drinks sold there weren't too expensive and it was right opposite a huge supermarket.

Liked: There was a mix up with our booking and the staff we great about fixing it up and making our stay a good one. They were also very helpful planning our way up the andes. The place was also clean and a quiet after a long day of hiking :)

Liked: Nice located hostel and friendly people. Our booking was messed up, so we got the better room (double) for the value of the dorm. Kitchen is acutally too small for the amount of people, just like the dining room. The garden was perfect, including a small but nice cooling pool.

Liked: The location was outstanding. We had a a private room which was very spacious. The internet PC was old and crashed while we were there. The breakfast was plain and the same each of the 3 mornings during our stay. In spite of the last 2 comments, we would stay there again, staff was responsive and helpful.

Liked: We really liked this hostel. Only problem was that we arrived early so couldn't check in until 12 and then when we came back at 12 the room still wasn't ready - we didn't get in until 12.45 and when you have been travelling on an overnight bus it is so nice to be able to get into your room as early as possible to shower and relax. It was also a bit odd that it took so long to get the room ready because the people that were in it before us had checked out when we arrived at 9.30am! We had a private room, it was very small but had everything we needed. No point paying for a room with cable TV if you don't speak Spanish because nothing is in English. The common room/kitchen in the hostel is great and there is also a small swimming pool but it is so tiny only 4 people can comfortably be in it at one time and it is only waist deep. Breakfast was pretty basic, just cereal and toast etc.

Liked: We stayed in the newly renovated Queen size double room. It was lovely and probably better than most hotels! It was the best room of the whole trip! Staff friendly, free web access, T.V nice outside space and even a small dip pool to enjoy a glass of bubbly in after getting engaged! GREAT!

Liked: During our 2 weeks in Argentina, this was the best place we stayed in terms of cleanliness, location, amenities and price. The private rooms are more like a hotel than a hostel and its location across from the supermarket was so great! I would highly recommend!
