Liked: location and comfy beds. female 6-bed dorm was also generally quiet, only some street noise, but some other bedrooms were facing the inner garden, where people were talking and drinking until early hours every night.

Disliked: they did't give us a single key. you had to buzz in every time entering the hostel, and it usually took a while for the reception to let you in. Also the lockers were protected with an extra lock for which only the reception guys had the keys to. Essentially that meant that every time you wanted to access your stuff - you had to find staff members and ask them to go with you. Very inconvenient, especially if you carry a laptop... Some people in the reception were very slow and had little idea what they were doing. They even had trouble telling us how much money exactly we had to pay!

Liked: The location is good for the sights in town. It is a long walk from most of the bars.

Disliked: The staff were unfriendly and seemed more interested in having fun amongst themselves rather than helping guests. The ladies showers were ordinary - with only three working. The kitchen was big but most pots and pans etc were broken or need replacing.

Liked: Great place to meet people. Fabulous location also only about 15 metres from the main square. Staff are really friendly also which is a bonus...

Disliked: Bathrooms leave a lot to be desired. Of the 4 different toilets that I went in to only one had a lock... the showers are a bit like locker room showers. practically see through curtains and only flimsy half dividers seperating the stalls...

Liked: The staff were all friendly and helpful. One of the best staff I've met.

Disliked: New furniture and utensils would help. Also if they had more sofas and chairs in the common space it would have been more comfortable.

Liked: The location is very good and the hostel has many options of tours that you can book straight from the reception desk. The staff is fine. The best are the breakfast (above hostel average) and the really hot showers. The bar is very good and there is barbecue and movies going on all night long.

Disliked: The rooms are not cleaned very often and neither are the bathrooms. Dirt is everywhere and the heating system does not work very well. The recepcionist tried to overcharge me when I was paying the hostel. Be aware! But the location and feeling of the hostel, as well as the staff and other backpackers, are enough for a good stay. I recommend it.

Liked: The staff were awesome, the hostel was really well kept, great breakfast and really hot showers!

Disliked: Mendoza was freezing and I think heaters in the dorms are needed because we were so cold at night.

Liked: Would definitely recommend staying here as it was easy to meet people, the staff were friendly and on hand at all times. The kitchen was excellent and very well equipped. The showers weren´t always hot though but that´s the only downside. Much better than Hostel Alamo!!!

Liked: Hostel Independencia in general is a good hostel. The location is great. 10-15 min walk from tons of restaurants and supermarket and center of town. The staff is friendly and helpful as well. Theres a nice patio in the back to read and eat which is nice. The kitchen is pretty good as well. Lacks a bit of atmosphere though. And the bathrooms could be a bit cleaner. But overall, a good stay.

Liked: Great location and offered some good trips. I found most of the staff to be very friendly except just one, who wasn't helpful or friendly at all. I didn't feel very welcome there and the place is quite big with no communal atmosphere.
