Liked: Everything ( dorm rooms, bathrooms, common area, kitchen) was very clean and professional. Great location. The kitchen was big (yet often crowded) and the common area was great for a social atmosphere. The place had comfy beds and came with towels, which was a huge plus! It felt like a home-stay.

Disliked: No breakfast included, but that was pretty standard of El Chalten hostels.

Liked: The older woman who works there is amazing, willing to help you in anway...she even offered to cut my onions whilst I was crying all over the chopping board. The place is very cute and reasonably clean.

Disliked: We stayed there 5 nights and slowly began to realise that after one guest leaves they make no attempt to clean the sheets, but just tidy them back up again for the next guest. Disgusting!! The owner also decides to play metallica, korn and other inappropriate music in a hostel that is supposed to be chilled after a hard day trekking. Lastly, there is a lack of tables because the staff seem to finish working and then stay there all day drinking mate.

Liked: This property feels like a home away from home! The staff were so friendly and helpful and made us feel right at home. The common areas are large and the kitchen is fantastic!! We even got to watch a movie whilst we were here. Would definitely recommend staying here if you want to chill out after your long days of trekking.

Disliked: There is nothing to dislike. However, please note breakfast is not included (but the kitchen is ample enough to make your own, including a microwave for porridge!) and there is no internet,.

Liked: Aylen-Aike is a cozy and warm place to rest your boots after a big days hiking. The beds are soft and comfy and the shower is probably one of the best I've had in South America. The owners/staff are pleasant, friendly and willing to help at any cost.

Disliked: The price, is a bit much for what you get. The no free breakfast/wifi/internet is a bit of a down point.

Liked: Felt at home instantly. Sebastia (the ower) was extremely helpful and told us everythin we needed to know about treks in the area. Comfortable beds and THE BEST shower I`ve used in South America! Didn`t want to leave after 3 nights since we were so comfortable.

Disliked: Breakfast was not included, which is not typical in Argentina. The hostel was also very empty while we were there, since it was low season, so it wasn`t easy to meet people. Everything else was perfect.

Liked: Amazing helpfulness of staff, suggested a slight modification to our hike that made it way better. More than happy to sit down and take the time to go through options, and stoked a fire from about 10am even though it wasn´t that cold!

Disliked: Food not inclusive, but still probably cheaper than doing it yourself, and reasonable! No directions on automated hostelbooker email, make sure you know how to get there or ask. Not difficult to find.

Liked: good character / decor of place, fine location, good views, good kitchen, cosy and warm place, friendly and informative staff, clean and good DVD collection.

Disliked: Breakfast not included, for the price of staying there is not good value. The rooms get too hot, and although you can altar the temperature on the heaters, the windows are sealed shut so you can't get any fresh air. Not enough bathrooms at the top, but they are on the bottom floor. Kitchen not big enough for too many people cooking at once.

Liked: This hostel was very clean and they even gave you really great towels! The showers were amazing--always hot and great water pressure. The kitchen was big and there was plenty of room for cooking and eating. The rooms were a good size with lots of extra blankets in case it got too cold. Sebastian was really helpful and had a great DVD collection for watching after long hikes!

Disliked: No breakfast included, although you could make your own. Also, no wifi or computer which was a let down. Other than that, we enjoyed our time here!

Liked: Amazing views, great showers and nice communal areas. The dorms had enough space and there was plenty of books to read and music to listen to.

Disliked: Was a bit pricey for El Chalten, especially as there was no internet and you had to pay for breakfast. You could hear the people downstairs from the rooms, which was annoying if you were getting up for a trek.

Liked: Really enjoyed staying at this hostel. Sebastian is a brilliant host and his knowledge of the area is amazing. He was able to provide all the info that we needed along with some local knowledge as to where to go and when to go also. the hostel it self if like staying in someone´s house. the rooms are all painted different colours - with bedspreads to match, there were individual lamps with the beds - always a bonus, there is always hot water, good kitchen and fabulous living room with lots of cd´s and dvd´s to entertain you should the weather not be the best for hiking. would definelty recommend this hostel to fellow backpackers...
