Liked: we rented a cabin for one night and couldn´t have been more pleased, the cabin is absolutely adorable with bunk beds on the 1st floor and a little loft with a double bed. bathroom was tiny and shower pressure weak but still not horrible at all. breakfast was good, staff super friendly and sweet.

Disliked: water pressure could be a bit stronger but overall not bad. no wifi in the cabins but you can use it in the main house areas just fine.

Liked: Very friendly hosts and good breakfasts. We also had a good shower in our cabin. The hostel was small was friendly. Not long to walk to the bus station or the main street.

Disliked: We felt that the cabin was good for one night but would have been to small for us for any longer, there is a single bed downstairs and a double upstairs but we chose to sleep apart as the double bed wouldn't have been big enough for both of us. Would be good if wifi worked in the room but not a big deal as it was quick in the lounge.

Liked: The owner/manager is a really nice guy, full of information and suggestions. he accomadated us on our way back thru el calafate a couple of days later even thou it was high season and had no booking. small stroll from dowtown area. overall a good stay and would stay there again

Disliked: i'd reccomend one of the cabins which are not attached to the main building. also stayed in a double room in the main building which was ok but noisey as it backed onto the guest kitcheh.

Liked: Lovely cosy cabins, great friendly family owners, decent breakfast, plenty of information and help with booking tours.

Disliked: Kitchen is a nice place to han out, but could do with a few more utensils (you can lend them from the family anyhow, mind).

Liked: The little cabins are lovely and breakfast is very good. Staff are very friendly and helpful and arranged all the trips we wanted to do.

Disliked: The double bed was foam so wasn't the most comfortable but the little house makes up for this!

Liked: We stayed for four nights in January 2011. Owners (and family) and staff all very helpful. Less than five minutes from the bus station, 5 minutes from the town centre. The cabins were very clean and cosy with hot water on demand. We found this hostel excelled our expectations and was a good base for exploring El Calafate and the surrounding attractions.

Disliked: I appreciate that this was a hostel but thought there was room for improvement in the guest kitchen facilities.

Liked: The staff is very very friendly and helpful. Instead of rooms you have little houses to sleep in. Thats very nice. Breakfast is good.

Liked: If there was a 10 star option for 'Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff' i would have picked it - 5 stars doesn't seem nearly enough! I was very sick when i arrived and the extended helpfulness of this family was beyond the norm of what you would expect from any hotel/hostel. I am very grateful for having chosen to stay here since i was feeling so awful when i arrived and was escorted to the hospital by one of the family members to have my issues translated to the doctors there - it was very nice of her to do this for me and i remain very grateful. I would have no hesitation recommending this place, we had a lovely stay, the cabins are very cute, the location tops, but the hosts really do make the atmosphere lovely! Hopefully we will be back one day soon.

Liked: Very friendly staff (albeit with limited English so be warned if you haven´t taken your lessons) and nice rooms. Breakfast was typical but we also got croissants! It is a quiet place so if you are looking for a party you won´t find it here. Nice place to relax for a couple of days.

Liked: We had a wonderful stay in Las Cabañitas. The cabins are cute, cozy and very clean. Only the water from the shower took a while to get warm. Lovely family who are really helpful with everything. Definitely highly recommended!!
