Liked: We loved Walter. When we came he made us feel very welcome. This was our first hostel and we are in our 60's--thought we might be out of place, but no.... We got tons of good recommendations and they were all right on. Great bargins and advice on how to avoid the tourist traps.

Liked: Walther is a great host, and Rusty-K Hostal is beautiful and comfortable. I only stayed for one night but it's easy to see why other guests with more flexible schedules had extended their stays for far longer than they had intended. Dog people will love China and Leon, who will sometimes follow you around town. The asado is wonderful fun, lots of meat and wine and laughter and conversation, and well worth taking part in.

Liked: Only way I could fault this place is that the shower in the bathroom can leave a lot of water across the floor. But the atmosphere, staff, the barbeque under the grape vines, made this a great place, definately recommend.

Liked: The Rusty-K was a great place to stay. The environment they have created really makes it easy to chill and meet people. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. While during our stay we never met the owners, who have such rave reviews, Patricia worked there and was incredible. She was helpful, fun and a great host. The hostel itself was clean and well organized. It is a short walk from downtown and they have bikes available to rent for a self-guided tour should you wish.Thank you Patricia for all your help!

Liked: The best hostel I have ever stayed at. The staff are amazing, always putting on a BBQ for you (it seems to be someone's birthday everyday so a good excuse) helpful with information. Go with them on the canyon tour as guide is great. Can't say any better then that!

Liked: The Rusty K was such a great place to stay. Mariana and Patricia picked us up at the bus station and made us feel welcome right away. They had a wealth of information about Cafayate, from where to eat, which wineries offer free tastings to trekking in the local area. This place really delivers on the "relaxed-home" feel. Stay here! You will love it!

Liked: Great smallish hostel! Fantastic relaxed & welcoming atmosphere. People are friendly, smiley & more than helpfull. Really nice courtyard with grape vines haning overhead supplying shade - complete with BBQ area - ideal for cheap eats! Rooms spacious, clean & safe. Kitchen well equiped and clean. In all highly recommend this place. If looking for a big crowd & party every night...perhaps not the place for you.

Liked: Like a small hotel with hostel facilities. Very nice clean room, lovely garden and barbeque, views of the mountains. Very friendly english speaking owner who took us on a private tour of the quebradas at a very reasonable price. Friendly staff and family. A great place to stay so we stayed longer.
