About El Sol Hostel de Recoleta

No frills, just a great place at a great price for travelers who want to enjoy Buenos Aires while staying in a safe, central location. El Sol Hostel is truly one of a kind. Meet our friendly staff that includes artists, adventurers and intellectuals from various countries, and spend evenings at our lovely patio where we invite local or foreign musicians to play at the weekend and have movie nights during the week. And though El Sol is not a typical 'party hostel', there are often late night get-togethers and events!

It's our goal to serve you so we'll go out of our way to make you feel welcome and well informed about our city
Tango shows, tickets for football matches, entrance to clubs and info about the events in BsAs - are only a few things available at the reception. We can call you a cab, arrange an airport transfer, provide you with maps of the city and the neighbourhood area.

Accommodation Information

We have different types of rooms to suit different people's taste. You can stay in a dorm (from 4 up to 6 beds), or choose a private room (with shared or private bathrooms). We have different types of private rooms which can accommodate up to 4 people(double and single beds). Some rooms have balconies overlooking Montevideo Street, where it is so nice to have a cup of coffee in the morning! All the rooms are equipped with fans. If it gets too hot in your room, you can ask for an extra one at the reception! If it gets too cold, we have blankets available as well.

Location Information

El Sol Recoleta
Marcelo T. de Alvear 1590 Piso 2
Recoleta, Capital Federal(1060)
Buenos Aires, Argentina

We're conveniently located at the southern end of the Recoleta neighborhood (in Barrio Norte ). Sights such as the Obelisk, Plaza de Mayo, Teatro Colón, Congreso, Recoleta Cemetery and the Florida Street promenade are only minutes away by foot. The well preserved French-style building (1890) evokes the elegant past of the city's Golden Age, although the gritty, fast-paced and highly cultured vibe of contemporary Buenos Aires is never far.

Recoleta is without exception the safest neighborhood in Buenos Aires. Just one block away from sophisticated and sleepless Santa Fe Avenue, the hostel is surrounded by prestigious universities, upscale residences, fashionable boutiques, and countless clubs, pubs, bars and restaurants. You'll rarely walk out onto an empty street here...

Our neighborhood offers most of your needs within a few blocks of the hostel. You´ll find several internet cafes - and dozens of places to eat! You needn't step off our curb for a supermarket, laundry, internet/phone calls, pharmacy, gym, breakfast, bakery, kiosks, photo developing, book shops, etc.

In the Northern part of Recoleta, just a few minutes walk from us, there are plenty of nice cosy little squares and parks with green lawns, a few Modern Arts centres, National Library and the sculpture of the Metal Flower.
