Liked: awesome bartender, clean rooms, good place to meet people, rooftop terrace was a plus, fairly centrally located

Disliked: wifi doesnt work in rooms, computers are somewhat slow, some people had wallbugs

Liked: Wow, one of my favorite hostels! This hostel is a great combination hostel with good party (but not too much) and good facilities. The bar was awesome and probably the cheapest place to drink in buenos aires!! It works well as a starting place for the big nights buenos aires has to offer. The staff we helpful and recommended great places to go out for everything from food to parties to tourist attractions. Love the roof top terrace and the roof turtle, great asados and great place to meet people of many various origins (not just Aussie and British). I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking to experience BA!!

Liked: My dorm room (of 6) was spacious and had big doors opening to a little terrace. So there was always fresh air in the room. The staff were really helpful. The rooftop terrace is a great place to hang out and relax. Also i really enjoyed the free yoga classes that occur twice a week, its not something that you find regularly in hostels!

Disliked: The street is quite busy with cars and buses, so it was noisy, but bearable.

Liked: Great staff and great hostel. Clean and spacious rooms, great showers, good water pressure and they stay hot! Great location in the heart of Tango area, San Telmo. Definitely a geat place to stay while in BA! Also amazing breakfast!

Disliked: The only downside is the bell, every time yu or anyone needs to be let in the front door buzzes. It can get annoying (I'm sure more for the staff working there!) However this is common amongest all hostels in the area and does mean you can be assured of security as people cant just wander in off the street.

Liked: In a great area. Close to restaurants/ bars and markets on a sunday. A lovely old building with heaps of character. Big airy rooms and we even had a balcony. Lots of organised stuff to do if you want to join.

Disliked: Bathrooms were a bit stuffy, mouldy and no real ventilation.

Liked: Good location, interesting design, balconies in the rooms, quiet. Staff were very friendly and helpful with directions and suggestions for activities. Bar was a great place to meet other travellers. Pleasant atmosphere and decent breakfast.

Disliked: Only one toilet was available on our floor, so the wastebasket was overflowing. When I told them we were out of toilet paper, it took 8 hours for them to replace it.

Liked: Chilled out, nice kitchen area, clean bedrooms with nice balconies, good showers. Breakfast better than average. Friendly and helpful reception staff.

Disliked: Internet was hardly ever working - 1 out of 3 computers worked and wi-fi was on-and-off. Bar opening hours seemed to be at the whim of the staff - e.g. it was closed until midnight on a Saturday! Some reception staff felt the need to play their own music loudly at the same time as the bar was playing different music - headache city! Toilet roll always ran out!

Liked: Ostinatto has the feel of a boutique hotel, with a minimalist, clean interior and beautiful terraces (not to mention a really cool old school elevator). The staff is very friendly and helpful when it comes to giving directions and suggestions on what to do and see, and the bar and dining room provide a great place to meet other backpackers, who, during my stay, ranged greatly in age and nationality.

Disliked: Unlike many other hostels in BA, Ostinatto doesn't offer airport transfers via shuttle. The hostel is also a bit more expensive than other places that offer comparable activities and services. Yet its prime location and super nice facilities were, in my opinion, worth the extra few pesos.

Liked: Good hostel in the San Telmo district - nice large building that has been converted. Very clean bathrooms & large rooms.Good breakfast and ample kitchen for a city hostel. Did the La Boca tour with Anita, very good, worth doing.

Disliked: Internet did not work most of the time and the hostel seemed to do little about this. A little thing but frustrating when you are staying a week. Street can be quiet at night but we encountered no problems. Bar in hostel was cool but quiet as off season. Some events did not happen as advertised - e.g. Asado on our 1st night

Liked: Very nice hostel with spacious dorms, nice kitchen, nice common areas. I really like the balconys in the dorms

Disliked: The bathrooms were very wet and I really don't like that everyone in the halls can see into the bathrooms, they're not very private.

Liked: Pretty awesome hostel - amazing building, we stayed in a six bed dorm with balcony which was really light and airy. Everything was really clean, including the bathrooms. The old lift is amazing! Roof terrace is small but nice. The kitchen is pretty well stocked and a good size, and common areas are great. The bar is awesome - cheap drinks and a good place to meet people. The hostel is big enough that you can have a good time in the bar and go out, or stay in and a have a good night's sleep, away from the noise. Staff are great, will help you with anything and free lessons are provided throughout the week - tango, tai chi, yoga, as well as free walking tours.

Disliked: Drawback to the room was a busy road and too much light in the morning! Location is a bit sketchy in the night but the staff can direct you where to go, which streets to stick to etc. Having also stayed in Palermo, San Telmo is definitely recommended - so much character and an amazing Sunday market!

Liked: Perfect location in San Telmo, close to everything. Good breakfast with big choice of fruits, cereales and bread. Nice roof terrace and big room with balcony. Lots of activities suggested by the hostel.

Disliked: Impossible to get any kind of intimacy, mixed dorms, mixed toilets with a window to the central hall as wall.

Liked: Staff were super friendly and the hostel had a really nice atmosphere to it. Overall one of the best hostels I've stayed in since I've been in South America, and a great place to meet people. I booked for 2 nights and ended up staying a week.

Disliked: Some of the cooking utensils could do with an upgrade.

Liked: Excellent hostel! Really big and airy! 6 bed dorm has lots of room and balcony. Really good equiped kitchen and lots of space. Good bar. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Excellent location for central BA.

Liked: Good location & friendly staff. Big lockers in the rooms which is always good & the breakfast is pretty decent. Beer on tap was a definite plus.

Disliked: The bunk beds are really bad, very awkward climb to the top one which is not pleasant when you're getting in after a few jars.

Liked: Ostinatto has one of the better breakfasts that I've encountered at hostels thus far. The location is convenient for walking to many attractions, but at night it is kind of sketchy. The staff is very nice and helpful, but the showers could be a little better.

Liked: Staff is great, facilities are great, really loved this place. Unfortunately about 4 people were robbed in the same day, right outside the hostel (or a few blocks away), but that seems to be an incident, since the neighbourhood is quite safe and there havent been any robberies or anything alike on other days. Would def. recommend this place!
