Liked: Great location. Big room. Some very friendly smiley staff. Main section of the hostel looked nice.

Disliked: This is the second time we've stayed at this hostel - the first time being in 2012 and we were happy with it then, so decided to stay again. This time though, we were not too impressed. I'm sorry for the whole list of things we disliked - we have stayed in lots of hostels over the years and are always happy with cheap and cheerful, but we found this place a bit sad and gloomy. The guy who checked us in was very friendly, but didn't seem too knowledgeable when showing us places on the map or checking us in . Maybe he was new, which was no big problem. He showed us to our room - we had asked for a double, but got a twin room. No big deal, we're used to that when staying in hostels. I just think it should be made clear at the time of booking. The beds weren't made when we arrived, which didn't bother us at all. However, when we returned to our room later that afternoon, the door had been broken and we couldn't lock it anymore. I assume the cleaner had broken the door when trying to get in to make our beds. We told the girl on duty who was lovely & apologised, but nothing could be done until the owner arrived the next day. Again, we were fine with this, but when we went to reception the next morning to enquire if someone would be coming to fix the door, the new guy on duty didn't know anything about it and said he hoped it would be fixed. And when we enquired later that day, it was yet another guy on duty who didn't know anything about it and was not concerned at all - he just said that he'd been on duty for 2 hours and that was it. It turned out that the door was fixed by the end of the day, which was great, but no one said a word to us about it. We weren't too impressed with was the communication between the staff and that it seemed no one cared or tried to help.I find it a really silly door system too - the one they have to get in and out of the main building. You have to be buzzed in and out everytime, which requires someone to always be on reception otherwise you have to wait. Even when you are buzzed, the door doesn't open very easily. It's really not very safe, if there were to be a fire or something. Another thing we weren't too happy with was the cleanliness of the place. The bathroom wasn't cleaned the whole 3 nights we were there. The place was really looking dirty and in need of a bit of TLC. Lastly, the atmosphere of the place wasn't so great and the other guests who stayed there didn't seem very friendly. I know this isn't necessarily the fault of the hostel but it didn't seem like a welcoming place- in the part that we were staying in anyway. Every morning I said hello to the same girl who never said a word to me. Also, there was an older man staying there who was always smoking and coughing all through the night. It felt like this section of the hostel was almost left alone and forgotten about, people didn't look happy - the main section of the hostel always seemed brighter and better looked after.

Liked: Great location, the night staff was super nice (i have forgotten his name) and we had a great chat. The location is unmatchable!!!

Disliked: Its very dirty and run down. I had a private room and the ceiling was falling apart. The shower was full of mold and it looked like 12938190283 spiders have found home in the corners of the room. I am not fuzzy at all but the prospect of sleeping among spidernets really freaked me out. And the mold.... oh god :(

Liked: We likes nothing about this disgusting place, exept the location.

Disliked: Lots of mold in the room, musty air, toilets with stools all over. We had to go to the toilets at nearby restaurants. Most disgusting place we have ever stayed at.

Liked: Its in a good location on Chile Avenue, good bars and restaurants close by

Disliked: The showers and bathrooms downstairs were putrid. Black and scum everywhere. The beds might as well not have had mattresses, they were uncomfortable and cramped. Staff kept turning on the oscillating fan in the dorm rooms with the door closed. Its the middle of winter. Would not go back.

Liked: friendly staff, great location, cheap rooms

Disliked: all facilities (beds, kitchen, lockers) are run down, bathrooms were very damp and moist ~ condensed water sits on the ceiling at all times and drops onto you whilst you're in there..

Liked: Great Hostel, Awesome city. One of the cheaper hostels in BA, but really good location, clean, parties but not too much. met some awesome people. Rodreigo, Xavier and all the staff are easy going, friendly, helpful and speak spanish and english. Booked in for 2 nights and stayed more than 2 weeks. If you have time, give some of it to exploring BA, its not the sort of city you can get to know in 2 days, the longer the better I reckon!
