Liked: Good comfy single rooms

Liked: Breakfast was a good selection of differenet fruits, normal toast, jam, bread etc... There was a nice smoking/BBQ area outside over looking the city. It was good locaion near the Subte.

Disliked: The kitchen facilitities were ill equiped and the 4 ring stove only had 2 working. There were no bowls for cereal (if you bought it) and the kitchen cupboards hadn't been cleaned in a long time, with old food in them... The dorm rooms only had very small draw/locker things which were see through mesh and could only fit a small day sack. There appeared to be 'local' residents living in the property amongst the guests which was unsettling, they never left the property and hung around in the communal areas (smoking-i don't know what) at all times -often dominating it and making the girls feel awkward. The feel of the place wasn't relaxing and we felt on guard the whole time watching our stuff!!!! beware!!!!

Liked: I booked for only a few nights and ended up staying 2 and half weeks. This hostel feels like being at home. The staff are so great, its was just like a bunch of friends living together. It was definitely the best place I stayed on my trip in Buenos Aires, it has the perfect mix of chill out and partying. Book a night and stay a few weeks is my advice :) The location is perfectly close enough to everything. Cant say much more than.. BOOK IT NOW! :)

Liked: I loved that it was small and personal- it was really easy to meet people and we often organised Hostel outings ourselves because everyone knows each other within a few hours.

Disliked: The toilet situation is a little gross- they don`t have windows ìn them so they always stink a bit. It would also be rad if there were 1 or 2 more.

Liked: very helpful and friendly staff (pedro and adrian!!)...excellent garden terrace...had an ace bbq...the breaky is the best hostel breaky you'll get...v. clean...secure...homely feel...booked 2 nights stayed for 7...

Disliked: only 1 computer...slightly out of town...quiet-ish hostel not the place to really party...

Liked: Really nice hostel near the subway station. Friendly staff helps you with all kinds of questions! They offer barbeque and empanadas in the evening. The breakfast is good (a lot of fresh fruits) and as much as you can eat. We already planned to come back!

Liked: This hostel is definately worth a trip to Buenos Aires if only to meet Tatiana and Adrian, as they are the friendlest and most helpful staff ever and they make the hostel feel like a home.Don´t worry if you get hungry as Jorge makes a fantastic BBQ every week and its so BIG you wont be able to move. When we stayed for just over 3 weeks we often requested for Jorge to cook us tradional Argentinean meals inbetween his awesome BBQ´s.

Disliked: The beds could be a tad bigger.

Liked: While on a busy street, the dorm room I was in faced the back and was quiet. The water is very hot and bathroom clean. Breakfast was included and good. There is a library with couches which is nice to sit in and read for some quiet space. The communal area upstairs is spacious, airy and friendly. There is an outdoor roof terrace as well. Very nice hostal with very helpful friendly staff!

Liked: Not the best experience, they messed up our reservation and gave my dorm bed away (although I used it and was full of my stuff). Not a nice surpise at 3 am. They did put us up in another place for free, but that is really not what you want at that time.

Liked: Overall an outstanding choice and fantastic value for money.Really cheap by BA standards. I stayed in a private room, it was large, airy with high ceilings and was very quiet - great for catching up on sleep. Staff helpful and place has a very chilled out vibe. I booked for 2 days and ended up staying a week. A little bit out of the way though, say 15 min walk to centre of San Telmo. However right beside metro line (in fact you can feel a very slight shudder every time one goes past . . .) so overall quite easy to get around. Very restful peaceful place - full of nice people, but not a loud crazy party hostel. Very good vibe and the place I will stay whenever I´m in BA.

Liked: We stayed at the Garden House on San Juan in Buenos Aires firstly for four nights and then returned to spend our last night there before flying home. We stayed firstly in the Sea double room with ensuite and then the Tango double room with ensuite. Both rooms shared a private balcony and had fantastic bathrooms (something that can't be said for the other places we stayed!!!). The tango room also benefited from air con but both had ceiling fans for those hot BA nights. There was a lovely communal roof top terrace and breakfast was served up there - coffee, fruit, bread rolls with jam and dulce de leche which we are now in love with. I'd absolutely recommend it to other travellers - particularly those who aren't sure about staying in a hostel but don't have the budget for a hotel. The staff here are fantastically helpful - we were particularly grateful to find out that you could book your bus tickets through the hostel and they print them off there and then. Believe me, when you arrive at the chaos that is Retiro you'll be glad you at these have your tickets already. When checking in they also provided us with a map and took time to pin point all the key sights/areas to visits, which I know that might sound pretty standard to some people but we stayed in several other places and no one bothered to even give us a map let alone take the time to discuss what we might be interested in seeing/doing. I remember reading a couple of slightly negative comments about location - we didn't find location an issue. It was very close to San Jose subte stop and close to San Juan too and that helps you fly round what is a huge city. I really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back.

Liked: The shared bathrooms are kept very clean. The staff at the front desk are very helpful and speak english. The fans in the room work well and are quiet. The rooftop is a lovely area to sit out on.

Liked: Very nice and small hostel which feels as if you are at home :) Although the location is not the best, it is close to two different metro lines to reach the city centre. The staff is very friendly and helpfull, enough bathrooms and always watm water. The BBQ on thursday night is very nice :)

Liked: It is a nice hostel, not far from the metro station. The BBQ on thursday night is awesome and includes meat, salads and drinks (all you can eat and drink). Kitchen and bath facilities are good. And most rooms are on the backside, so it is quiet in the night. I would book it again.
