Liked: Great showers and clean. Beds are made every day and you can get a free towel.

Disliked: Not the place to meet up other travellers necessarily.

Liked: Lots of people and good atmosphere to socialize. Pretty close to the 'happening' part of San Telmo.

Disliked: The water piping and setup, for both the shower and sink had tons of leaks, and there was rotting wood in the shower room and the bunk room itself. This is pretty disgusting and in the long term can cause health problems... ewwwwww In a slightly sketchy part of San Telmo, but hey, that's San Telmo...

Liked: Wow, this hostel is clean!! I've stayed at others in Bs As and am amazed at the cleanliness of America del Sur. The beds are made, the floors are spotless... and each room has a private bathroom, so you don't have to lug your stuff down the hallway. The staff was pretty friendly and helpful.

Disliked: The breakfast was just ok and the location wasn't awesome.

Disliked: The dorm I stayed was not clean. But it was more about the people who were there when I arrived, then the hostel cleanliness. All the commun areas were perfect clean

Disliked: the weird computer system that does your bill. not that it wasn't correct - it just didn't list things properly

Liked: Easy to meet other travellers, great TV room, free internet, good breakfast included, friendly & helpful staff, max. dorm size is 4 beds and all rooms are en suite. Walking tours around BA from the hostel run on Tues & Thurs. Great location; easy to get to the city centre and for exploring San Telmo. Had a fantastic time here, I didn't want to leave!

Disliked: Kitchen is not very well equipped.

Liked: Air conditioning in the rooms, nice terrace, good location, supermarket on the other side of the street, good tv area downstairs

Disliked: Internet doesn´t work well in the rooms upstairs, breakfast was (in comparison with other argentinian breakfasts) big but only sweet things that don´t satisfy your hunger, they have two kitchen, the travelers´ one doesn´t invite you to cook because it´s not kept clean by the other travelers

Liked: The hostel was great: the common area was very nice and a great meeting place, the rooms were clean - and all had a private bathroom! Breakfast was fine, wifi worked, so nothing to complain about. I stayed one night in a private room, and it was better than some of the *** hotels where I stayed, so a great value, if you can afford it. But the best thing about this hostel is the staff - extremely nice and helpful.

Disliked: There was nothing I disliked (except some very noisy guys in the next room, but that's not the hostel's fault).

Liked: Rooms are well equippied and clean. Staff is helpfull and extremely friendly and nice. Good breakfast. Actually I stayed again at aAmerica del Sur when I returned to Buenos Aires.

Liked: Everything. More of a hotel than hostel.. Great location. Secure clean friendly & very helpful staff. Good frdge & kitchen facilities, air con available, hairdryer. All you could expect from good hotel at hostel prices. Internet good. Social areas excellent.

Disliked: Rather noisy at times. Rooms at front subject to street noise particularly earl morning when buses pass and bins emptied.

Liked: - very welcoming - huge breakfast with a lot of choice and extended hours for breakfast which was nice - rooms were confortable and big enough

Disliked: - the window of our room was above the inside court were people were drinking and yelling sometimes untile 3-4 am. It would be a good idea to set a time limit when people are not allowed to shout there anymore

Liked: Personable & friendly reception. Management easy going if you BYOB. Lively atmosphere and modern facilites. Well lighted lobby/common area and free computers/wifi. A/C (especially required if your dorm window MUST be closed all night due to all night loud reception area chatter). Several common rooms (computer and TV). Nice kitchen and outdoor enclosed patio (but with a very loud exhaust fan buzzing all the time). Accepted a credit card payment and advised of the 7% surcharge (I was fine with that---many places won't take cc's at all) Markets and cheap empanadas/pizzas nearby if you look. Bus routes everywhere. Lively neighborhood. Watch out for the extremely poor exchange rate at EZE! Take Bus #8 from EZE (2 pesos, coins only and 2 hour trip) $150 USD "reciprocity" fee for US citizens upon arrival at the EZE airport stings! (do you know about it?)

Disliked: Depending on the dorm room (mine) it somebody talking all night (reception desk?) and whose voice reverberates/bounces off walls and up several floors.Hostel is designed to that voices bounce off the walls of many floors. Even with one window closed it was still heard all night. Go figure. 4 person dorm room is quite cramped. For those in an upper bunk, you must try to find room on the floor to put on socks, etc. Dorky (but new) vanity sink area in the room. Awkward room/lighting/key system. Although efficient water pressure/nozzle, I didn't like the ensuite slippery shower room. As with the dorm room, no stool or seat. Standing room only dorm room & shower room. Uggh.

Liked: Great walking tour and outside space to relax in. Two amazing and helpful members of staff.

Disliked: Staff were unfriendly and aloof (unless you got one of the two great members of staff!) who were fantastic - so it was luck who you got!!

Liked: Good atmosphere with really helpfull staff. Location in san telmo really central, although san telmo by night is lease safe. But this is to neglect because of the safe surrounding and ambiance within the hostel.

Liked: Stafff EXTREMELY helpful and friendly... remembered my name from the word GO!!! Mighty impressed with the whole package. Breakfast was EXCELLENT! (Even some "healthy" cereals which I ha not come across in the 10 weeks i had spent in South America.. A FANTATIC place to end my trip....THOROUGHLY reommended!

Disliked: Nothing really! only slight criticism being that i shard a dorm with three blokes (not really a problem except that the shower door did not close properly!! (room 404)
