Michael McGhieThis was my first stay in a hostel - and I'm 54! I had a private room with a good lock on the door; there was virtually zero furniture other than the bed (with an incredibly firm and thick pillow) and a kind of walk in wardrobe. The window overlooked a central area of the building, with a table football game immediately below me. At night the staff usually switched uplighters on in this area together with a noisy fan - and generally didn't turn them off until about 4am. This wouldn't have been a problem but for the fact that the blind that was presumably meant to extend all the way to the bottom of the window was stuck and wouldn't extend anywhere near enough to block out the light! Also some residents came back at 3-4am and made a lot of noise. However, this was Buenos Aires! I made allowances, survived quite well and thought it was, overall, not a bad place at all. There was a basic (even rudimentary) but satisfactory breakfast each morning, either in the smart cafe below or in the bar area of the hostel. Washing facilities were good but I think that they should have provided some form of soap - especially with swine flu all over the place! There was a HostelBookers sign displayed indicating the hostel had won an award for cleanliness in May 2009; it was generally clean and tidy; there was no bin in the room (very silly) and the staff didn't always tidy up mess in the public areas. |

Stephanie MorrisThis hostel is really good for the price and what you get. The breakfast from the downstairs bar was really nice and the rooms were very clean and warm. It had a pool table, WIFI in the common room (I generally couldn´t pick it up from the bedroom), TV with cable so we were able to watch the English Premier league! The staff were also super friendly (one chap opened my bottle of wine each time) and gave good instructions about what to do. It´s slightly out of the main town centre but only two blocks from the red line metro which takes about 10 mins into the centre and a $15ARS taxi ride (which we had to take when we missed the last metro at 10pm). If you plan to stay for a while as we did, in seven days they never changed our sheets but i´m sure if we asked they would have done as they are that friendly (and English speaking). I would stay here again and it suits people wanting to get out of the hustle of the main centre but it missed having other travellers which is why we moved more into the centre - perhaps in the summer it picks up? There is also a kitchen but why would you want to use it when they have the best steak in the world in Argentina?! |

Niels WillemsenThe staff was very friendly and helpful with anything. Although the room was situated near the busy street, the facilities, great vibe & ambiente make up big time for this. We've been travelling for 10 weeks in LA, and this one is in the top 5 for sure, great value. |

Danielle EisenbarthThe location was great, safe, clean... it seemed as though some was cleaning everytime I went out of the room. It was off season so my friend and I had an entire 6 bed dorm to ourselves, we had a blast! We were afraid it might be cold since it is winter but they have central heating AND a space heater in the room. We didnt even have to sleep under the covers. The roof terrace was pretty, and the staff was incredible helpful and friendly. Especially Pablo! I definitely recommend this hostel and will stay there again next time I return to Buenos Aires. |
