Liked: The hostel is really cool, the whole place is one big piece of art. I think the placed used to be an apartment block, it's huge and still has a lot of original features in the bathrooms. The reception and bar staff are really friendly and helpful.

Disliked: That you can't bring your own drinks into the hostel so it can make a night quite expensive. The room we staying in was on the roof terrace and you had to walk outside to get to the bathroom. The beds were metal frames so squeaked and moved a lot when you moved ever so slightly.

Liked: I stayed her for a few nights in different rooms. I came from a hostel that was lacking decrypt in personality, fun and any genuine guidance from staff to assist a traveller. Upon entrance this place was friendly and helpful. It is super safe, which was comforting for a single female traveller in SanTelmo and has a great vibe that is both friendly and fun as well as laid back. The rooms all vary so maybe asking a few questions will help guide u to a room that fits your needs. Oh and good breakfast!

Disliked: Not the cleanest place ever, nor the fanciest but it makes up for this in character!

Liked: It was an OK place to stay, but America Del Sur Hostel (just down the street) is WAY better its more like a Hotel and a hostel. Overall it was an OK place, the day staff was great at helping you find stuff to do and the atmosphere was great. Just beware of the Showers and your room constantly smelling like old feet and wet towels

Disliked: Although this property was an OK place to stay in Buenos Aires, they were VERY and I mean VERY disorganized when it came to billing. The day before I left I settled my account, then right before I left to the Airport they wanted another $250ARS (US$ 50) pesos because the other guy made a mistake. I ended up having to give the dollars because I had already run out of pesos. To add on to that, he made me late for the Cab where the cab driver charged me another $25 ARS ($5). Those last moments ruined my stay and made me write this review. The shower was a nightmare, either extremely HOT (really really burning hot) or extremely cold.

Liked: funky rooms and good breakfast.

Disliked: sadly the kitchen was closed for two days and the artists working on the monday decided to blast out music during siesta for over 5 hours..long siesta was needed.

Liked: It´s really a good place for backpackers. Clean, good value for money and the location is great!

Disliked: In the dorms the upper beds don´t have a shelf to put on your stuff. It´s not really handy, because you don´t have place for your telephone, water or anything.

Liked: The hostel was decorated with a very funky theme. The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially when it came to booking taxis/transfers. Rooms had character and were clean.

Disliked: Having previously stayed on Avenida de Mayo we didn´t really like San Telmo as an area. In comparison to Downtown it is harder to navigate, doesn´t feel as safe, there isn´t much nightlife in the vicinity, and we couldn´t find a bank that would accept Mastercards anywhere nearby. To be fair this isn´t the hostel´s fault, but the area they are placed in certainly isn´t to their advantage.

Liked: the individual and impressive way of organizing a hostel with "art " and practical details :-) more or less quiet with other residents due to the clever way of building up the bar not in the middle of the hotel, but away from the rooms and still central. a lot and big places for relaxing all around, but not disturbing anyone-great concept !

Disliked: the security of my room was not really good, i had a laptop and some other stuff there, and it could have been stolen more or less easy. to be fair, the other rooms i saw have been much safer !

Liked: I really liked the Art Factory Hostel, it was really chilled out. Staff very helpful with my questions about my next destination and about Buenos Aires. Extended stay. Got there and was upgraded for first few nights - bonus! Great roof terrace and great place to meet people.

Disliked: Dorm 3 isn´t in a great location, noisy by the stairs!

Liked: The room and facilities were clean. The location in San Telmo was good.

Disliked: Non of the events seemed to come to any fruition, which is often how you meet fellow backpackers. We thought that the terrace was a bit of a wasted space, there was never any music or atmosphere created and the drinks from the bar were also expensive, encouraging many of the backpackers to purchase beers from the supermarket and drink them elsewhere. I was also quite 135pesos for a tax from the airport, which actually cost 150pesos. After moving to another hostel, they organise taxi collections from 50pesos.

Liked: Plenty of space in the dorm, wonderful showers

Disliked: EXTREMELY wobbly bunkbeds, lockers in rooms are little metal lattice boxes i.e. you can see what is in them.

Liked: Friendly knowledgable staff - but one guy was on another planet - guess that is South America. Safe and Secure. great place to meet people.

Disliked: Events held at the hostel are not considerate of the guests staying at hostel. They got very small shower and toilet space - you can not turn around and when you shower the entire cubicle gets wet including your towels and there is no place outside to keep the towel. Rooms are right next to bar with live music and the balcony communal area.

Liked: Good location, funky decor and secure.

Disliked: Seemed to be a bit of a party hostel when we were there. Had people in the common area making a lot of noise at 2am even though it is supposed to be a silent area from 10pm to 9am

Liked: I loved how original the place is with all the art work that features on every wall in every dorm and room. Also liked the terrace with the hammocks. The big bathrooms that are downstairs are all different and have so much character.

Disliked: The internet connection was tempremental, there are no locks on the communal showers/toilets and the bunk beds feel very unsteady.

Liked: The arty athmosphere was really nice and the common area was great, as was the big roof terrace. The staff was really friendly and helpful. The location was perfect for the fleamarket on sunday.

Disliked: We expected a cosier, smaller hostel but actually it was quite big and not that intimate. Our room only had a window to the hall and wasn't too big. The women's shower upstairs didn't have warm water. We had the All you can eat-BBQ but it wasn't actually all you can eat, so my boyfriend was still hungry when there was no meat left. But they were really nice and refunded us some of the money.

Disliked: it´s kind of expensive - but really worth the money!
