Liked: Superb place to stay in the capital, close enough to the subway or cafes of San Telmo yet remarkably quiet in terms of traffic noise. We had a double room which was thoughtfully furnished and decorated. The kitchen was poor but this didn't prove to be a problem for us as we ate out every day which I'm sure most guests do as well. Breakfast was delicious and sumptious.

Liked: It lies in a very good neighbourhood. The rooms are very nicely painted and the hostel is decorated so that it has a nice atmosphere. The roofterrace is good for having a drink on. The bathrooms are a bit old and not always superclean >> but that's the only negative part.

Liked: Good location and some of the art was OK. The thing about this place is that the staff seem more interested in the art side of it and being all arty and they lose sight of running a decent hostel. Asked a couple of times for simple things and was told to come back later etc. The maid was working really hard sorting breakfast and rooms and there were about 3 people behind the counter not being very helpful. Breakfast was pretty sub standard too.And - our room had shutters on the outside by the corridor so anyone could easy see in to check what property was in the room. Not very private

Liked: It's a very colourful hostel with a lot of character. The staff are great and there's a whiteboard up every day with what's on. It was a little quiet when we stayed so we didn't meet too many people however I'm sure in peak season the huge open roof terrace/bar would be absolutely amazing. We stayed in 2 private doubles and both were huge, beds were comfortable and we could get wireless in the room. In terms of location there is nothing literally on the doorstep but markets, plaza's, restaurants, shops, buses and the subte etc etc are all within a few blocks walk and we never felt unsafe, given the usual caution for a big city. Breakfast is quite good as well, scoring fresh fruit, strong coffee, cereal and if you're lucky scrambled eggs. The only issue we had was the state of the bathrooms- they're not particularly dirty, just old and a little run down. All in all highly recommended.

Liked: The young staff was always trying to offer the most comfortable standard they were able to give. If it was the natural rain in the bathroom ;-) or the missing electricity for a couples of hours - poor Guilia! If you want to sleep, it´s very helpful to use earplugs. Anyway we enjoyed stayin´ in this old fashioned beautiful gardenhouseartfactory with it´s nice drawings inside.

Liked: i booked a private room with a bathroom and it was great! if you consider what you pay for a dorm in europe it is the same cost as a single room with a bathroom here. i love all the artwork on the walls and the theme in the hostel. the autmoshere is great and the staff are amazing. i stayed here for two weeks and it felt like home. the only thing is the hostel is located in san telmo which is not the nicest neighbourhood. however it is only two blocks from 9 de julio and very central to a lot of the big attractions in buenos aires. i barely had to take a cab from here to go see some of the sights.
