Liked: This place is awesome, easily the best place we stayed in on a 3 month backpacking trip through Eastern Europe. The owner picked us up promptly from the hostel it says to check in at and took us to his guesthouse which is very secure and in a nice area. The rooms are huge are very clean and well furnished. Ours even had hotel style slippers. The owner even brought us takeaway breakfast for the day we left on an early bus.

Disliked: Nothing, it was perfect, wish we could have stayed longer.

Liked: A great place to relax. It is NOT a hostel like Freddy's, its an apartment in a block but if you have been on the road for a while, it is lovely to have your own space and a bathroom to yourself. Orest and his wife are lovely and the rooms are spotlessly clean. They will show you the way from Freddy's, and after that it is really easy to find. The rooms are air conditioned and have satellite TV (great for watching Albanian MTV!).

Liked: The owner was very nice and helpful. I didn't stay for very long, but I got my own room with bathroom for the same price as the dorm I had booked.

Disliked: It's a bit hard to find. The address leads you to Freddy's Hostel, but they are both family-run, so go into Freddy's Hostel and one of the workers will take you to Oresti.

Liked: The couple who run the hostel were very very nice and helpful. The rooms and facilities were kept incredibly clean. Very comfortable rooms. Location is great also.

Liked: Tirana wasn't amazing, but Oresti Hostel was the silver lining. Really, really nice rooms and an incredibly friendly and helpful host.

Liked: The owner contacted us by e-mail after our booking was confirmed and asked if we wanted transport from the airport. We answered 'no' because we were in our car, but asked for some secure parking. OK was the answer. Directions to the hostel were not given but clear directions to the sister hostel. They immediately contacted Oresti hostel and a young guide appeared who took us there. The hostel had it's own locked courtyard where our car was 100% secure. The owner was very welcoming, spoke excellent English, and the room was perfect. Very new, modern, clean with it's own bathroom, television and air-conditioning. There was a fridge in the corrider outside the room. We were very close to the city centre and didn't even use our car. Around the corner were shops and an internet cafe where you could drink cold beer and surf to your heart's content. We just checked e-mails, there were much more interesting things to see. At night it was unbelievably quiet, considering how close we were to main streets. If you are thinking of visiting Tirana then Oresti Hostel has to be your first choice. It is not a place for partying, but Tirana has plenty of those in other areas!
