Your Travel Guide to Miami

Guide for Miami

With all that sunshine, Cuban culture and celebrity spotting, it’s no wonder that Miami is one of the sexiest cities around.

Soaking up some rays on South Beach is not to be missed, but there’s more to Miami than just palm trees, sun and sand. Be sure to explore the city’s Art Deco scene and the variety of exotic animals at the Miami Zoo, Jungle Island and Miami Seaquarium.

But most importantly, don’t forget to sit back with a mojito and soak up the atmosphere.

Carry on reading our Miami City Guide to find out more about the city, including tips on the best budget accommodation.

Customer Travel Tip: Travel in a group, stay near the beach

Liked: Fantastic beach and weather. Shops, bars and clubs to keep you entertained. Easy to travel around.

Disliked: Lots of locals causing trouble, lots of homeless people begging, didn't feel safe.

Customer Travel Tip: I would suggest to only really go to Miami if you enjoy going to the beach, shopping and clubbing. Other than that I couldn't find that much else to do there.

Liked: The laid back atmosphere

Disliked: The humidity and the lack of activities to do during the day apart from shop or go to the beach..

Customer Travel Tip: Do not travel alone if you can avoid it. Buy a good sunscreen because the sun is strong. Carry two purses, one with a few dollars in and one with your regular money in that way if anything happens and you need to ''hand over your money'' you simply give them the purse with the few dollars in...it happens, don't think it doesn't. Wear comfortable shoes because you will walk a LOT. Do not lower your guard just because you are in holiday mode. Don't forget cars will be approaching from the opposite direction to what we are used to...look or you'll get run down!!! But most of all...HAVE FUN.

Liked: This is hard for me to find something that I liked (see dislike section) I had high expectations for Miami but sadly none of them were reached. Thank goodness I met up with some fantastic friends while I was out there.

Disliked: I have travelled extensively throughout my life ALONE...There aren't many place where I have felt unsafe but sadly Miami was one of them. I cant quite explain why but it didn't feel safe for a single girl to be travelling alone in Miami..
