16 Sep 2015

Travel Type:
Alone

Trip Type:
Sightseeing & culture

Customer Travel Tip: Be careful of people/ companys offering guided tours with queue jumping capabilities! Some of the tour guides are no more knowledgable than a guidebook/ audio guide and the tickets can be easily booked so that then avoids queuing.

Liked: Plenty of things to do and see. Churches and basilicas have free entry.

Disliked: Bit expensive.

16 Sep 2015

Travel Type:
With friends / other travellers

Trip Type:
Sports, adventure or outdoor activities

Customer Travel Tip: Don't go during the holiday season in July and August and avoid the months on either side of July and August

Liked: The historical richness and culture. The huge variety of restaurants where you can eat well and (sort of) inexpensively

Disliked: The super large crowds in September.

15 Sep 2015

Travel Type:
Alone

Trip Type:
Backpacking / gap year

Customer Travel Tip: I am no expert but I am pretty sure I am correct to say that it's hot in summer, there are often strikes and the airport is one of the least reliable. Do not expect your checked luggage to arrive or your flights to be on time. Leave time, be a bit flexible, accept that it's a city with a tax for just being there and a service charge for sitting down to eat. Do not expect locals to fall over themselves to impress you. Have fun. Leave your itinerary a bit flexible. Get recommendations for places to eat.
