Customer Travel Tip: Don't walk around the inner city alone, it's not safe although it's very interesting. there's a "free" walking tour (actually costs R$20), do that. Take the metro to places, it's most convenient. Traffic is a big problem so wouldn't recommend car rental. If you do want to go see a place in the inner city, take the metro and the closest route. Going to the Se cathedral, get out at Praca Liberdade and walk down the very safe Liberdade road - it ends at the back of the Se cathedral (it's not far) and you avoid the yucky area in front.

Liked: The cultural festival, all museums and places of attraction free. Apparently they do this often. Also nice vibe (except for inner city ha ha). Also, liked Liberdade, good food and interesting Japanese culture. Ibirapuera Park is also lovely, although not easily accessible by metro or bus.

Disliked: They must really clean up the inner city, get rid of all the drug addicts and other criminal elements that hang around there. SP deserves better! SP has lots of hills so be prepared for some strenuous walking!

Customer Travel Tip: Only good for a quick stop over two days at most from my experience. Weather was too bad for us to go out often in the evenings.

Liked: The bars and nightlife

Disliked: In general there is not a lot to do around the city. There are a few places you can visit and a free walking tour but this all proved to be disappointing. The weather was absolutely dreadful here in early March.
