Customer Travel Tip: Do your research thoroughly when looking for accommodation! (We thought we had but we made a big mistake!)

Liked: Lovely City - the walk to the MCG is lovely (along the river). Good restaurants and bars, excellent Tourist Info Centre, Quirky 'cobbled' streets. We met our friend there who showed us around which was probably a big plus!

Disliked: Unfortunately it poured with rain, but that's the luck of the draw. We found the buses/trams a bit crowded and we made an unfortunate choice of accommodation in St Kilda's (not a nice area).

Customer Travel Tip: Go to the visitor centre and pick up their mini walking guides. There's about 6 of them and they are all about 1.5 - 2 hours long which is obviously calculated for fat people as they're actually about 45 minutes long, great way to see the city though and familiarise yourself.

Liked: Culture, the only place with culture in Australia and a fairly good attempt at authentic European style.

Disliked: Still a few bogans here and there but most of the time you can sit and relax and drink a coffee without having to see or hear a bogan..

Customer Travel Tip: Go on the walking citiy tours and make sure you're in the city or at least a week. There is so much to do and see you won't be able to tackle it all alone. Make sure you get a myki card for the trains, busses and teams. And if you have a chance go to an AFL game.

Liked: I've been to a few cities in Australia and Melbourne has been the best by far. So much to do and see, and the vast culture is amazing. From the footy games to the Vic markets there is so much to do and see. The shopping is outstanding and the cafe's and street art in all the different lane ways are amazing. I don't know how I will ever be able to leave.

Disliked: Nothing!.

Customer Travel Tip: Look up the free walking tours imfree.com.au covers good areas and points out places of interest. The tour guide I had Matt was very knowledgeable he knew when tours of places happened and if they were free or if there was a small coat associated with it. He was also happy to answer questions about places not on the tour and help out understanding the public transport system and using the myki. That's my second piece of advice. Research the myki and how it works before you get here.

Liked: The culture old buildings and street art
