Things to Do in Los Angeles

When in Hollywood, do as the natives do and check out the legendary Mann’s Chinese Theater. This unique building showed the first silent film ever made in Hollywood and is still home to dozens of premiers every year, as well as the starting point for the red carpet at the Academy Awards.

Check out the Getty Museum; a free, sprawling art museum home to one of the world’s best collections. The building’s unique architecture alone is worth seeing.

The House of Blues on Sunset Strip might be the best place to see live music in all of Southern California. Tons of bands – not just blues musicians – play there and the atmosphere is notoriously laid-back. You’ll probably even spot a celebrity or two.

The beaches in Los Angeles are largely disappointing… but not this one. Rent a bicycle, pedal up and down the strip, and you’ll find picturesque views, flea markets and eccentric performers.

Take a two-hour tour of this working studio where you’ll be driven around the massive lot in golf carts and given the rich history. You’ll probably even get to peek in at a film or sitcom in progress! A must for all film fans.
