South by Southwest Music Festival - USA
When: 12 March 2010 - 16 March 2010
Held in March, South by Southwest is an extraordinary festival roughly similar to a music event in the UK but weighted towards industry figures looking to see new acts or new material.
For non-American groups, South by Southwest can be the place to cause a buzz in and create the grounding for an American fan base: something that many bands fail to achieve. Recent artists to feature include Duffy and the Ting Tings.
Texas offers a great location for a music festival, with taverns and steak houses acting as bases for the bands and promoters. Large BBQs and parties are the order of the day whilst bands play long into the night.
