Red Earth Festival - USA
When: 05 June 2010 - 07 June 2010
The Red Earth Festival is a celebration of Native American culture and the New World's heritage. Every June, over 100 tribes from across the US converge on Oklahoma City for a week to celebrate their lifestyles and history.
Over 2,000 Native American dancers and artists come to the city to enjoy and take part in the Red Earth Festival. The event is a must for travelers in the region as it offers a unique insight into the American Indian lifestyles.
Established in 1987, this event now attracts over 100,000 spectators for the parade through the streets of the city. But this event has far more to offer than simply a parade; it also involves music, dancing and arts with a variety of competitions taking place during the festival.
