Forget the bright lights and huge LCD screens of Times Square on Independence Day, there’s nothing more amazing than watching the world's largest fireworks display that erupts over the city at 9pm.
As the fireworks are shot from barges in the city's bay - with Lady Liberty providing a stunning backdrop - the bay area makes an ideal vantage point. To get a good position you'll need to get there early, though, as thousands of people make the journey and it can get rather crowded!
The most unique way to view the fireworks, however, must be from a boat on the water itself. While this can be expensive, it gives visitors a stunningly intimate view of the amazing display taking place in front of them.
