Every year in May, around a quarter of a million people converge upon Houston for one of the most intriguing events in America's calendar. Art Car Weekend is a showcase of some of the most unusual vehicles to be found around the world.
But these cars are not new-concept vehicles hot off the production lines. Rather they are ordinary, everyday cars that have been customized by their owners to such a scale that, in some cases, it is difficult to recognize them as road vehicles at all!
The main event of the weekend is the Art Car Parade when the beautiful, unusual and bizarre creations drive through the city to show off to the 250,000 spectators lining the streets.
