Getting Around Granada: Transport Tips and Advice

Public Transport in Granada

Since Granada’s airport opened a few years ago, shuttle buses have been running between it and the city center. They tend to leave on the hour and take around 30 minutes to reach their destination.

If you’re arriving in the city by bus, the main bus station is out on the Ctra. Madrid from where you can take a number of buses towards the heart of the city. The number 10 goes to Calle de Ronda, Calle Rocogidas and Calle Acera de Darro, while the number 3 will take you to Av. Constitucion, Gran Via and Plaza de Isabel la Catolica.

Single rides are extremely cheap but you can also buy a ‘bonobus’ which works out cheaper still, as ten rides go for the price of five.

Granad i’s a small city and all of the places of interest can be reached on foot. Having said that, its Old Town is a baffling maze of narrow, winding streets, so it’s a good idea to pick up a free map from the tourist office in order to get your bearings.
