Glasgow has two international airports; Glasgow International and Prestwick International. Buses leave every 15-30 minutes from Glasgow International and take 25 minutes to reach the town center. From Prestwick, it’s about a 50 minute journey.
Traveling to and from London will be out of Central Station, whilst trains from Queen Street depart for the Highlands. A cheaper way of getting around Scotland, however, is by bus. Buchanan Station on Killermont Street – just to the north of Queen Street station – opens up to a variety of destinations.
As for the inner city itself, Glasgow is relatively small in comparison to some cities around the world and the best way to explore is on foot.
For longer journeys (or when carrying a heavy backpack), the city does have a small, circular subway system. It’s known – admittedly more in guide books than among locals –as the ‘Clockwork Orange’.
