Edinburgh’s international airport is well connected to the city center by the Airlink Express shuttle bus (often numbered 100) which runs from directly outside the terminal building to the centrally-located Waverly Bridge.
With its compact city center, Scotland’s capital is a great city for walking and many of the sights can be accessed from two roads. From Princes Street (the main street in New Town) you can access the West Princes Street Gardens, Waverly Station, and the Royal Academy.
The other main drag – the Royal Mile in Old Town – is home to Edinburgh Castle and the Palace of Holyroodhouse. Aside from walking, the Lothian buses provide service throughout the city. Purchasing a Daysaver on weekends is a smart bet as it’s cheaper than during the week.
