Things to Do in Casablanca

Want to know some of the standout things to do in Casablanca? Then have a look through our handpicked suggestions below...

1. Mosquee Hassan II

Casablanca’s most impressive monument, this huge mosque sits on a promontory overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Parts of the interior can be viewed by non-Muslims as well.

2. Take in the Architecture

Built during the colonial period - in particular the 1920s and 1930s - the Mauresque and Art Deco architecture in Casa is exquisite. Just take a walk through the center of town and be amazed by the innovative designs and structures.

3. Eat the Culture!

Casa is recognized as the best place to eat in all of Morocco and you should make your way to the Maarif district to try some local specialties. Try dishes such as falafel, shawarma, fuul sandwiches and the excellent seafood. If you feel particularly adventurous, you could even try roast stuffed pigeon!

4. The Jewish Museum

Casablanca’s museum is the only Jewish museum in the Islamic world. It houses an array of beautiful photographs, traditional costumes, sacramental items and several ancient books and scrolls.

5. Check out a Beach Club along Ain Diab

The beach at Casa itself is not the cleanest beach around but the real attraction is the beach clubs along the shore. Clubs usually have a few pools, a restaurant and maybe even a disco. An interesting contrast to the rest of this relatively conservative city.
