There are two main ways to get to and from Cancun International Airport: by private airport transfer cars or by taxi. Private airport transfer is more expensive, but it promises hassle and wait-free transport. You can organize a cheaper shared-hire, but you’ll be waiting for others’ flights to arrive. Taxis are usually cheaper, although you will again have to wait at the taxi rank.
Once in the city center, Cancun is relatively small which means it’s fairly cheap and easy to get around. Buses are inexpensive, frequent ,and run 24-hours a day. Finding the right stop can be confusing, though, so just ask the driver to give you a signal when you’re there.
Taxis are a more expensive alternative to using the bus system. It’s usually best to agree a price with your driver before you get in the car. At night, try to avoid taxis outside major nightclubs; it's safer to walk 100 feet down the road and hail one from there.
