Getting Around Pisa: Transport Tips and Advice

A Scenic Pisa Bus Route

With a number of low-cost airlines now flying to its well located airport, Pisa is becoming a popular destination for short breaks as well as a cheap entry point into Italy.

Trains from the airport take just five minutes to reach the city center. And getting to Pisa from other parts of Italy is equally convenient, with around 20 trains a day from Rome and 40 from Florence.

Pisa is an extremely compact city and can easily be covered on foot. For cyclists, bikes can be rented without trouble, and the countryside stretching away from the city is well worth a day trip to explore.

If a walking tour seems too much like hard work, buses are the easiest way of getting around. Numbers 1, 3 and 11 head from the main train station towards the Campo dei Miracoli, where you'll find the main tourist office and the city’s main attractions.
