Things to Do in Naples

This may sound obvious… but Naples is the birthplace of the pizza, after all. Avoid the touristy places and keep it simple with a margherita or a marinara.

The Santa Restituta Enclaves – an archaeological site dating back to the 4th century – is well hidden. So are the mosaics of Baptistery of San Giovanni in Fonte, so don’t miss them!

The Via San Gregorio Armeno runs through the heart of the Spaccanapoli, one of the more attractive parts of the centro storico. A charming little street, it's lined with shops where the 'presepi' (elaborate nativity scenes) are made.

This Gothic Church is a beauty in itself but what’s beneath is even better. In the excavated Napoli Sotterranea, you can literally walk the streets of ancient Greek and Roman Naples.
