Things to Do in Hong Kong

Want to know some of the standout things to do in Hong Kong? Then have a look through our handpicked suggestions below...

1. Get Stuck into Stanley Market

Part of the fun of going to Stanley Market, believe it or not, is the bus ride through colorful neighborhoods, zig-zagging mountain roads, and views of Hong Kong’s beaches. Once at the market, you can find vendors selling cheap food, clothes, paintings, and other knick-knacks. A great experience all round.

2. Victoria Peak

Ascending this large peak is half the fun... if you plan on riding the Peak Tram (which climbs 373 meters to the top in eight minutes), that is! Once at the summit, walk along Harlech Road for spectacular views of central Hong Kong and Kowloon.

3. Hong Kong Cultural Center

Located in Tsim Sha Tsui, the Cultural Center has concert halls, theaters, and a few impressive museums such as the Museum of Art (which features Chinese calligraphy, scrolls, and paintings).

4. Dig into the Dim Sum

A great way to experience authentic Chinese cuisine without paying too much is to try Dim Sum. With Dim Sum, your waiter brings around a cart with several different dishes on it for you to pick and choose. Among the (invariable delicious) options are barbecued pork bun, crab dumpling, and spring roll.

5. Wong Tai Sin Temple

This impressive temple is always packed with worshippers, especially during Chinese New Year. Colorful and dramatic, it's a great way to experience the Taoist faith.
