Fiesta de San Isidro - Honduras

Not to be confused with Madrid's fiesta of the same name, Fiesta de San Isidro in May is the largest carnival of Honduras’ packed calendar. The city of La Ceiba is transformed by a week of parades and parties that start at dawn and wind down at dusk.
The local Garifuna community has a big presence at Fiesta de San Isidro and is behind the majority of the musical influences that inspire the parades. Coming to Honduras many generations ago from the West Indies, the Garifuna community drives the whole festival with an array of Caribbean beats.
