Things to Do in Corfu Island

Want to know some of the standout things to do in Corfu? Then have a look through our handpicked suggestions below...

1. Get Washed up on a Beach

Paleokastritsa, Barbati and Myrtiotissa are probably the best known examples of Corfu’s unspoilt, clean and surprisingly sparsely populated beaches. But from the northern tip, right down the western coast of the island, there are some of the most attractive strips of sand in the Mediterranean.

2.Check out the Sea Views from Angelokastro

To get up to the Byzantine fortress of Angelokastro you have to wind your way up the high rocky outcrop on which it perches. From the top, there are few better views out to sea anywhere on the island.

3. Hit the ‘Disco Strip’ in Corfu Town

More fun than the bars and clubs of Ipsos, Corfu Town’s nightlife quarter is rarely anything less than bouncing during the summer months.

4. Be Awe-struck by Archaeological Remains

Corfu Island is studded with outstanding archaeological sites, many of whose treasures and antiquities are held in the Archaeological Museum in Corfu Town. Of these, the famous Gorgon Pediment (a representation of Medusa taken from the Temple of Artemis) stands out.

5. Climb Mt. Pantokrator

Inland Corfu is dominated by a wild and fairly hilly landscape. With its fantastic views from the top, and the deserted village of Perithia which lies en route, the climb up Mt. Pantokrator is a definite highlight for the more energetic traveler.
