Schutzenfest Fair - Germany

Schutzenfest is the largest fair of its kind and has a history that stretches back to the 16th century. Although it's primarily a celebration of marksmanship, these days it features amusements and rides, including a traditional Ferris wheel and a large rollercoaster.
For the adults, there's a famous beer attraction set up on many stalls which comprises schnapps and Luttje Lage, a fruity beer that complements the schnapps - the twist is that both drinks must be consumed at the same time!
Dressing-up and attending the fair at night is perhaps the finest way to enjoy the Schutzenfest. All the rides are lit up and fireworks displays add extra sparkle to the evening.
