1. Stroll along the Seine
The Seine, Paris' much painted and much written about river, is the city's central artery. It also makes for some achingly romantic walks as you cross first one bridge and then another. It's particularly impressive at night when you pass the illuminated Notre Dame Cathedral, standing out from the rest of the glittering city around it.
2. Check out the City’s Celebrity Cemeteries
In addition to paying your respects at the tombs of some of France's 'National Heroes' housed in the Panthéon, the Cimetière du Montparnasse is a wonderfully atmospheric cemetery containing many of the country's leading intellectual lights.
