Brighton is a very accessible city and easily reached by plane, train, bus or boat. The major transport hub of London is just an hour away by train, with the capital's Heathrow Airport 90 minutes away and Gatwick only 30.
Since Brighton is very small, touring by foot is the cheapest and most sensible option. However, buses do operate regularly around town and charge very little. Day, weekly, and monthly passes are available depending on the length of your stay, but singles are also inexpensive.
Taxis are readily available day and night although, like many places in England, they tend to be rather pricey. Alternatively, cycling is also becoming a popular way to get around town, with new routes being built by the council. Bikes can be hired from Brighton Marina or the West Pier.
