It takes only 10-20 minutes and a cheap train ride to get from Birmingham International Airport to Birmingham New Street. From there, you can get buses to most destinations in the city.
To get around the city itself, the bus is your best option. The main service is operated by Travel West Midlands (TWM), with Pete’s Travel and the Birmingham Coach Company coming in second.
Single fares get expensive if you plan to take the bus more than once a day, but you can get an all-day pass for TWM services instead. Busmaster and Centro Daytripper tickets generally span all three main bus services and can occasionally be useful.
Set on a canal network (although rather less romantic than Bruges, Amsterdam and Venice), waterbuses can be a fun way of getting around, if rather slower and less accessible.
