Things to Do in Prague

Over to the east of the city, the Mala Strana district of Prague boasts a number of stunning outdoor spaces. The lovely wooded area of Petrin, however, has the best views of the city.

The spiritual heart of the Nove Mesto is really more of a broad avenue than a square - but that doesn’t make it any less impressive. It was also the focal point of the ‘Velvet Revolution’, as the country rose up to shrug off communism in 1989.

The ‘Jewish Museum’, as it’s known, is a collection of fascinating sights in the former Jewish ghetto of Josefov. An all-inclusive ticket is helpful, but it doesn’t make them any easier to find in the maze of streets and narrow alleyways…

The city is never more beautiful than when, lit up like a Christmas tree, the markets come to town. All manner of goods, artisans’ wares and foodstuffs can be bought, but it’s the festive atmosphere that really makes it stand out.

Have a few beers in a bar, that is! Czech beer is legendary, and Prague nightlife is defined by atmospheric little bars that are crying out to be explored.
