1. Heaven is the Habana Vieja
Old Havana, in all its crumbling finery, classic cars and inescapable rhythms, is a delight to walk around. Cubans live their lives publicly, so take a stroll and become a part of it.
2. Take the Advice of Ernest Hemingway – Drink Rum!

Carnival is the time of year when the city, rarely less than lively, really lets its hair down and has a good time. If colorful costumes, parades, loud music, dancing and gallons and gallons of rum sound good to you, head for Havana in August.
